Does anyone know how my funds can get available in 45 days instead of 180 days on PayPal? Currently I'm perm limited and it's saying I need to wait 180 days. But I've read about it being possible, if anyone has any info I'd really appreciate it

I know its a real thing for them turning the 180 day hold to 45 so that might be the way

You call them and explain that you are no threat for potentional future chargebacks, give them a fair reason why you are not.
The 180 days is by default because chargebacks can be done for 180 days after a transaction is done. When your account is limited and empty it will cost them cash when someone chargebacks, because nobody will do the effort to up their negative balance when they are permanently limited anyways. They will add you to some kind of review list which means that your account will be reviewed once per month to see wether it's still a threat for chargebacks or not, the moment it isn't anymore according to them your funds can be released. Wether you are a threat for chargebacks and therefore a threat for their funds, will most likely depend on your account history, amount of previous chargebacks, how old the account is, the amount of transactions you've done with paypal, wether your identity is verified and what kind of transactions it are aswell. It could also be that you haven't received money for 2 months for example, before you got limited, then it means that those 180 days automaticly get decreased to 4 months instead, that is if you let them know. That doesn't work anymore, it's a very old method which used to work for a short while but it will only do bad for your account if you still try to do so. I've done that to one account once to test it out, that account still has funds on it which i can't get out, that was 4 years ago. When i login all contact buttons and links are gone aswell. Paypal isn't doing anything illegal, you've agreed to their TOS when you created an account. They are not keeping the money, they are just temporary holding on to the funds in case people do chargebacks, hence the 180 days which is used by default (but can be decreased), that is because chargebacks can be done for 180 days after a transaction, it's mentioned in their TOS. |
