Hey folks,
I live in country where mobile data is not cheap at all, unlimited usage is almost impossible here if you are not rich fuck.
At the moment, I am abroad in Czech Republic, and here they are offering Unlimited LTE Data for 100czk (4 euros/$4,5) for one month and usable in whole EU via Roaming at free of cost. So this is no brainer for me at the moment. But this offer is available just in the summer. Whatever.
My question is, what is the cost of Unlimited Data plan in your country? I would love to find data plan, that is unlimited and usable in whole europe via roaming at free of cost. I know that in Ukraine data plans are cheap as fuck, at least I heard that. So I believe there are some options so I can have Unlimited data plans (or at least about 30gb per month) in whole EU including my country.
You know what my point is... Let's help each other out, I am sure more of you can utilize this kind of service ♥

Unlimited data plans, obviously are usually plans no prepaid cards and one of their conditions is to not take advantage of the fact that you could be living outside of that country so I think the average time in the country of the plan has to be around 6 months or so so you can be up to 6 months a year using that plan abroad through roaming services

I wonder if you could get someone to ship you two SIM cards with unlimited data then swap between them every 6 months to bypass that restriction? I've been pondering about it for a long time in regards to living off-grid.

Here in my country (USA), the cost of Unlimited data is somewhat high. If you go for a major carrier (not an MVNO) such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint the cheapest I have seen for a postpaid unlimited data account is approx $60 to $70/month for one person, this can be substantially cheaper ONLY IF you agree to get into a multi-user/family plan, the more users you put into your account, the less each pays, but the overall bill (the total bill for the whole household) would be much bigger.
If you go with an MVNO, these are providers that resell services from one of these above mentioned four major providers, then you can get a cheaper plan, but in these prepaid provider world there seems to be a perceived "magic number" of $40 when it comes to the unlimited everything/data plan, everyone seems to be asking at least $40/month for that privilege. I, wanting to get a more budget-conscious plan opted to not go for an unlimited plan. My MVNO carrier of choice is "Ultra Mobile" for $25/Mo I get 5 GB of monthly high-speed data, but I only end up using like 1 to 2 GB since most of my data usage is over WiFi in my house, etc so technically I don't need to pay for "unlimited" and that would only be a waste of money on my part.
If the user is willing to settle for even lesser data allotment then can get plans for even cheaper than what I pay.
Your $5 (+/-) a month that you are able to get for unlimited data in your country (even if it's only for the summer) is an absolute steal compared to what users here in the USA have to pay for cellphone service.
I used to use FreedomPop years ago, I was under their $3.99/month plan which entitled me to data "rollover" until a maximum cap of 20 GB", only 500 MB of data could be rolled over per month and I would get 1 GB of data every month in my plan, but then when I had rolled over and accumulated about 15 GB of data, one day it all just vanished into a big fat zero, I contacted FreedomPop customer support and they recognized the error and rectified it giving all my data back, a few weeks later the same happened, but this time I didn't have enough motivation to even try to contact them again, I lost trust on them as a serious company and simply moved on. My next move was trying AT&T prepaid, they gave me like 6 GB of monthly data for over $30ish dollars a month with rollover up to a maximum of 12 GB of data, and then I moved on to T-Mobile using one of their MVNO's (Ultra Mobile) where I sit today paying just $25 a month.
Has anyone had any experience with using a data plan from another EU country??
Unlimited minutes, text and data for £10.
I have unlimited data, minutes, and 500 text in my country (nothing in roaming tho) for 5-6 eur.
It's perfect since where I live right now I don't have WIFI so I use around 100GB+/month
The speed is really good tho. I can download torrents at 8MB/s which is crazy
