First and foremost, if this is in the wrong sub, I apologize. What I’m trying to do is find someone’s IP address on Xbox live and I cannot remember how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Finding a users IP address on Xbox live? |
|
I remember being able to do it it back in the old MW2 days by hosting a lobby or hosting an xbox chat.
Im not sure how microsofts security is today, but one way of going around that is by messaging with them and/or getting them to click an IP logger link. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Xbox user here, toyed with the new XB1. You can do lots, actually. Traffic manipulation(slowing down network, dropping certain packets, injecting packets), IP gathering (on certain games), and even being able to shut people's consoles off remotely. I was toying around with a network fuzzer against my xbox once and my xbox unexpectedly shut off. So I'm sure with the right spoofing of IP, etc. you could remotely shut people's console off. Grand Theft Auto V: Online is the best place to get IP addresses to target. Use wireshark, connect your computer to your xbox via ethernet, and bridge ethernet to either another ethernet or a wireless adapter. This lets you MitM the xbox with your computer, allowing full control over the packets going to it. You can also log IP's, probably best with a python/scapy script. Personally, I prefer using Nmap against IP's of targets I find, then any open ports I usually run metasploit against to gain access to their network. Eventually you meet someone with a vulnerable cisco router.

it depends on the game. some games are dedicated servers so you cant. some are p2p to save money on servers so that makes it easy with wireshark. i seen an article the other day where somebody had scamed to the top of mortal combat 11 tables (has prize money) by getting his opponents ip with wireshark and then ddos'in them. the game would then think the other person had left and give him the victory. as i say this is recent so it is definitely still possible just depends if the game uses peer 2 peer or dedicated server.

It can track anybodys ip thats connected to your xbox. (Via video game or the easiest way, xbox party) You can find many youtube videos on it and you will find out how to do it easily.
