Chinese CCTV systems

Does anyone have any experience with chinese CCTV systems?

Lately I'm interested in putting a basic CCTV on my weekend house and I've talked to some people who pointed me in the direction of cheap chinese CCTV systems (we are talking 100$-150$ with a wireless 4 camera setup, DVR, "nightvision" and remote access via router). A friend showed me his system and it's actually pretty decent. I don't need top of the line cameras but these also have quite good quality even at night. Another guy told me his system has been up for 3 years now without any trouble, DVR works great with firing up upon movement in selected squares on the grid.

Opinions/experiences and if you happen to have one, where did you get it from?
I mean chinese products can still be pretty solid. Even on AliExpress you can see reviews on products. If something has 500-1000 reviews and is 4 1/2 star and up I'd trust that its pretty decent.
just because it's Chinese doesn't mean its a bad product. there are many great Chinese conpanies out there that make great products.

I'd try to get one with a warranty though, in case you do have issues anywhere.
Really any CCTV system with the most standard IR camera technologies will do the trick.

For one, the scary black camera sphere is enough to stop people by itself, plus if you get a Nightvision IR CCTV camera instead of just a Spot IR, that "graininess" that older photos get and shitty CCTV cameras get goes away.

You could also invest in walk way lights in order to help supply enough light source for the CCTV at night.

True, the camera body itself is the weapon here because the house is in the hills in the middle of nowhere with very few neighbours, so the sense of surveillance is the main objective here.
The motion detector lights are a great idea actually ye!

Yes exactly.

Also add signs in your lawn and by your door that says "This property is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance".
That also in itself will deter intruders from trying to intrude lol.

A lot of thievery is in the mind, and if you get into theirs, you're safe.

I have no experience with CCTV cameras. I was thinking to get one just for fun and testing purposes.

This is pretty good trick to be honest.

That's a good point, even if you don't have camera you can still put the signs .

My neighbors put the signs in front lawn with no camera's around the house
Found some with higher resolution than these usually (4MP instead of 2MP), power over ethernet cable, 1TB disc included and free express shipping from Spanish warehouse (means I also avoid annoying EU customs) which takest est. 1-5 days to arrive for 235€. Also has tons of reviews and positive feedback.
Super stoked, will update you guys once I test and install!
I am sometimes disappointed with Chinese products but VERY rarely because I usually am spending close to nothing. China is a surveillance state with like 250+ million cameras. I am sure they make just fine CCTV cameras. Read the reviews, you will obviously be saving money but not getting the highest quality product. I don't think the picture quality is going to be nearly as good.

Cheap Chinese stuff can be okay but when it comes to security i wouldn't cheap out.
