Some Programs won't run on my PC

So I loaded up my PC this morning and everything was running fine but at this present moment there are some programs which I could not get to run such as Discord & [censored] I tried looking online and searching for help but to no avail, tried some solutions provided online but in the end I still can't get it to run I managed to uninstall them but I can never ever reinstall them again. Is there something wrong with my PC? just FYI both programs mentioned were installed long time ago and was able to run fine until now.
Still need help on this if someone could help me out I appreciate it.

Hello there !

- When was the last time you were able to run these programs ?
- Can you try to run rstrui.exe in order to restore your computer earlier ? > rstrui.exe only affect your system/programs, not your files
- Does your system recently installed some updates ? > use appwiz.cpl and then go on the left panel and select "show installed updates"
- Do you have any error message when you try to reinstall Discord and [censored] ?
- Do you see unusual activity through the task manager ? (CPU, RAM, HDD, NETWORK ?)
- Can you tell us what did you try ?
- Did you already run a disinfection tool such as Malwarebytes ?

Please answer to all of these questions  🙂

-I was able to run them a few days ago.
-I will try that tomorrow.
-It installed a windows update. After that update those apps don't work as mentioned in OP.
-For Discord it won't open up at all, after reinstalling it it will open a Squirreltemp.txt and shows up blank, for [censored] it keeps asking for admin rights even though I have admin rights already and keeps saying the prerequisites for [censored] Tap was not installed correctly after trying methods online still doesn't work.
-Not that I know of, although every 2-3 days I have disk errors and I have repaired em but it comes back thereafter.
-Tried everything which I could from help online still didn't work I can't list em all as I do not have the best memory.
-Ran Malwarebytes and Roguekiller, nothing showed up.

Hope this helps somehow thanks:)

Recently some of Windows updates have been identified as problematic, take a look about which have been installed.

Can you mention the updates which have been installed (KB something). You can also try to uninstall them and then try to reinstall the apps.

Well this is it.
Doesn't seem these updates are correlated to your problem.

Waiting for your rstrui.exe

Don't forget to keep us informed

I will reroll it to before the critical update and keep you posted if it works.

Hum, Ok

Try to open Discord, then use WIndows Key + R, type "eventvwr" > go into the left panel > Windows Log, Application

Do you see any error regarding discord ?

PM with OP, problem solved for the moment :

Recommended to roll back, then try to reinstall Discord.

If the update still causes problems, just uninstall it through :
> Windows key + R
> type "appwiz.cpl"
> go into the left panel and click on "installed updates"
> delete which one causes troubles

Thanks for the bytes dude !

Still a pleasure to help people on HF  😉
