Yes you can, but any .edu address is subject to closure and cancellation with the provider. When an .edu address is deemed falsely obtained they ping Amazon and close the account, whereas this will be with your own email account so it will never close. So you'll never have log in issues where they're sending password resets to an address you can't access any more!
