What would a custom .edu email look like for example? I've never had an .edu email before but if I can take advantage of the free 6 months of Amazon prime, that would be great. Would I just be able to change my email on my current Amazon account and I would get the deal or would I have to make a new Amazon account?

A custom edu email will include your chosen username, something like "Legitimately @ ..... . edu" sadly the offer for the Amazon Prime is elligible for edu emails only.
