Used half a tank of gas in 6 hours and walked out with $1.50. Don't have enough gas to even make it back for my next shift... fucking great.

Damn, that's terrible. I always tip delivery drivers better than waiters. Waiters and waitresses have multiple tables in a small area. Drivers have to use their vehicle to deliver to 1-2 houses at a time and waste a lot of time traveling.
I see it as paying them for the time it saved me to drive and pick it up. But you always hear the waiters/waitresses gripe about tips.

The main reason why I would never work as a pizza delivery boy. That shit sucks. Recently I just landed a factory job making 18.50 an hour. I guess its decent.

Yeah people just don't understand. I've worked for the same place many years before. Since then all the staff have change out and they pretty much kept giving me the no-tip or shitty long runs cause I'm the new guy. Gonna hit up my brother and see if he can throw me enough gas to make it out for my next shift. If these companies want to keep their drivers they need to pay them a living and usage on their vehicles. The solution to the tipping issue is not to not tip people, you're just fucking over everday people at that point. Coming from someone who's spent half their working life at jobs where employees should be tipped. (Jan 8, 2020 07:08 PM)James Burnham Wrote: Where are you from? In the US there is cutouts in the law that say the minimum wage doesn't apply to certain service jobs and companies can legally pay you around $3/hour.
This is why I couldn't do it. I just feel people are less inclined to tip which I understand to a point. I always tip because I know that's what makes it worth it to the driver not the company. I also never write on the tip line but I don't think it matters they still end up reporting it most likely.
