The Coronavirus Takes Its Toll on the Travel Industry
In China, this new virus has already started to take its toll on businesses. The outbreak of this virus coincides with the Chinese Lunar New Year. Traditionally, during this festive period, over 400 million Chinese people travel to celebrate the holiday. However, this year’s virus outbreak has caused a panic among travellers, and travel restrictions have been put up by the government. Cancellations have been widespread in the aviation and hospitality industry. The Chinese civil aviation authority announced that airlines should give passengers refunds for cancelled flights. Some airlines and major hotels have announced that they will allow customers to rebook for free. Tourism-related businesses like casinos, Air travel and hotels have all taken a blow, and their share prices have fallen. >>Source

The British Chancellor of the Exchequer Has Reassured British Firms
The British Chancellor of the Exchequer has taken steps to reassure British firms about trade in the post Brexit era. He assured the business community that the UK would only use the autonomy granted by Brexit to benefit businesses. This clarification came days after the minister had said that in the Post Brexit era there would not be an alignment with the EU. He concluded this statement by saying that firms have to adjust to the new regulations. The trade relationship with the EU has been a sensitive issue. The UK has, however, taken steps to capitalize on gains to be accrued from the deal. >>Source

Trump's New Tariffs
In a move that is now characteristic of Mr Trump's presidency, he has increased tariffs on derivative steel, aluminum products from some countries. On Friday, the president signed an order increasing tariffs on derivative steel products by twenty-five per cent and aluminum by 10 per cent. Argentina, Australia, Canada and Mexico are however exempt from both. Brazil and South Korea are exempt from the derivative steel tariffs only. He said that these tariffs are a strategic move to prop up US production. He described this as a National Security issue. He further said that since he introduced tariffs on steel and Aluminum, imports had reduced. However, in the same period, imports of derivatives had increased. Therefore the new duties are a means to counter the producers' attempts to go round the first batch of tariffs. >>Source

Uber self-driving cars coming to DC
Uber has recently announced that they will be bringing their self-driving cars to Washington, DC. Before they go fully autonomous, they will collect data with humans operating the vehicles to gather different driving situations for their engineers to recreate in simulation. This won’t be the first time Uber has used self-driving cars. A fatal crash happened in Tempe, Arizona in March 2018, killing a pedestrian. Since the crash Uber has been testing in a confined area in downtown Pittsburgh with autonomous vehicles. A few other cities were used to collect data that includes San Francisco, Houston, and Toronto. Pittsburgh was the only city approved to test such vehicles. >>Source

Apple is keeping the Lightning port
USB-C has become the standard for most smartphones on the market and subtracted some of the issues along the way. The iPhones still use a lightning port with a lightning cable and has not switched over to USB-C. Members from the European Parliament are proposing that all phone manufacturers to fully switch over to USB-C, Apple disagrees with this proposal. The European Commission stated that non-standardized cables “generate more than 51,000 tonnes of waste per year.” This has been a continuing issue with manufactures for the past decade. Apple argued “If European lawmakers had forced phone manufactures to use the now-outdated micro-USB back in 2009, they would have “restricted the advancement of technology.” An analyst from the CCS insight consultancy said, “It’s becoming increasingly difficult to understand why Apple insists on using the Lightning port, when the industry is standardizing around USB-C, and Apple itself has numerous devices that use USB-C.” This gives Apple complete control of a unique area of smartphones. >>Source

Jeff Bezos hacked
Jeff Bezos one of the wealthiest people in the world, his iPhone was allegedly compromised by Saudi Arabia, U.N. Experts said. Bezos received a message containing a video which held “sophisticated malware that gave attackers access to files on Bezos’ smartphone.” Saudi Arabia denies they were involved in the attack. Afterwards the attackers had access to his pictures and private conversations. To be targeted with such an attack you don't need to be a very well-known person as there have been a few data breaches recently with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. >>Source

Latest Leak Claims Battle Royale Coming to Modern Warfare
In his most up to date post, the YouTuber professed to have gotten his hands on the in-game strings that uncover what has been mentioned by the developers. His initial leak came as four new mission lines that have difficulties inside – including one that has players running each other over with vehicles. He also claimed that a source within Infinity Ward explained that the battle royale has been “delayed” in line with the season one end date as it “needs more time.” However, that doesn’t mean that it is absolutely coming with season two. The sourced noted that it is a possibility, but the BR could also come in season three, or be canceled altogether. >>Source

Nintendo will no longer repair Wii consoles come March
Nintendo's Wii has had a remarkable run since its 2006 dispatch, selling in excess of 101 million consoles over its seven-year life expectancy. Presently, years after it was displaced by the Wii U and afterward the Switch, Nintendo is declaring that it'll never again repair damaged Wii's in Japan and will quit accepting new units on March 31st. This news has shocked many in the gaming world, but Nintendo has made claims that the upcoming year will in fact be a year everyone will remember for a long time. Sadly, the end lesson learned from this news article is take care of your Wii unit from this day forward as it may be difficult to acquire them in the near future. >>Source

US-China Trade Agreement lowers Next-Gen Console, but not board games
In December, the United States and China arrived at a supposed "Stage One" exchange understanding that suspended proposed taxes on computer game consoles inconclusively. While it's not exactly the far reaching change bundle that the Trump organization has been after, it removes a critical danger to the dispatch of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X this Christmas season. As usual, the future of how these events will play out with China are far from predictable. With that being said, most of the back and forth trading and new stipulations with US trading should allow for smooth transactions and less conflict. >>Source
