Need advice on how to deal with real threats from another country

Hello everyone,

Recently, one of my friends was threatened by someone from the UK (we live in the USA). His information was obtained from WLI (WeLeakInfo.com) which was recently taken down by the Department of Justice, and he has received threatening letters to his house as well as gorilla shit (for some apparent reason).

He has taken the liberty of reporting it to his local police department, but we highly doubt that they'll do anything about the situation since the perpetrator and my friend are separated by a whole ocean. Are there any steps that we can take to report it to UK authorities despite being American citizens? We're quite unaware about the process and what to do in this case.

Any help is appreciated, and I await for your replies.
Thanks in advance.

He's not apart of Al-Qaeda no. The whole situation is ridiculous (and somewhat humorous) regarding the circumstances leading up to the present events. But as a result of certain actions, the perpetrator has ill intentions to do potential harm to my friend.

Can you explain the circumstances? Sounds interesting

Lmao you’re tripping over nothing bro
They are most likely just bluffing, don't take it too seriously. What's the worst that can happen and for what kind of information we are talking about? Do they want any payment? What's all about?
He seems like a kid. Personally I would send a serious looking threat to legal action. I have a buddy who studies law who does those sort of things for me but seeing the way you type, don't think you'd need help.
I would love to know the real reason behind this OP.

People who threaten you have to have some pretty serious information if they aren't bluffing. Incriminating stuff or card information. So I don't think you have to worry if the info is just passwords or something. Bluff back to him. Say that you are going to sue him and he will stop.
Lovely.

I wouldn't recommend the last part, provoking them will likely give them more reason to continue.

Just don't act on it, it'll blow over.

It looks like an overreaction.
Since when does one take online threats from another country serious?

Threaten him back, describe in detail how he'll regret stepping on your toes.

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply.

I'll explain the circumstances as it has me laughing as well, to warrant these kinds of threats, albeit the perpatrator has his address to have enough leverage over him I suppose.

Here's how the story goes:

My friend spoiled the plot of a My Little Pony episode (yes you heard that right, these are male teenagers) and the other guy was angry and decided to take revenge on my friend by mailing him gorilla crap and threatening letters.

Really childish situation in my opinion, but I'm honestly unsure as to what to do in this situation since he wants the authorities involved.
The only thing to prevent this to go even bad is to go to police and write a complain on this person, i understand it might kinda embracing, but there is no other choice. If the angry weleakerinfo guy see you ignoring him, he might leak that information to other people living close to your friend. I would definitely suggest to inform police about this, no other legal option for this unfortunately. They know where the person lives and have contact information, might do weird stuff. Be careful and always think what u posting or doing online.
The best to fully ignore him. Block all communications, and never respond to anything. He'll give it up soon. It is only funny when you see the victim's misery. So don't let him see it.
