Hello Hack Forums. I'm happy today and decided to make this thread on the day of my happiness. I invite you all share your thoughts on marriage as I just got married recently which was on 16th Feb 2020.

I got a very beautiful wife and I'm sure I'll live with her happily. I'm also planning a small trip with her to India, Goa on 25th Feb 2020. Anyone from Hack Forums who can visit there would be great and I'll consider to even meet. I'll be staying in North Goa.

Thoughts on marriage.
A part of me sees it not as special as it's shown, but the thought of marrying my girlfriend I've been with for so long is just heart warming.
Plus, I know it would make is both happy when the time is right.

I understand why people do it, I just don't think it is for me. It is heartwarming to see people, at least the side that you see, happy to spend their lives with the person they love.

Not to quote a movie line indirectly but... People go to weddings to be in the presence of true love, true love is your souls recognition of its counterpoint in another.

Pretty true statement, but again, not for me.

Waste of money (my opinion). I would rather spend those thousands that people spend on weddings and rings to go do something fun with Somone I love. But I have lots of friends who got married and are very happy just not for me. Good luck on your honeymoon man!

Eh, its basically the same as just living together except you have way more legal obligation if you get married plus if you break up its WAY worse legally for you

id have to be sure it was someone I thought id never divorce for the rest of my life to consider it

I would only consider getting married if I have already been with the girl for a couple of years, and I know for a fact that I can trust her. Although, getting married does not really mean that much to me, it's just a piece of paper to show you love & trust each other, as long as both of you are happy and love each other, then everything else won't matter.

It is special for me. I've been waiting long to marry my girl. We've been in a 4 long years of relation before marriage.

That's something I wouldn't think about and also I wouldn't plan a baby before a year from now. Need to be more stable in my income.

I think marriage by itself is a good thing. You show your beloved one, that (s)he is important to you, and you want something from the relationship.
But here comes the lawyers and greedy people... In several countries after the divorce man left with nothing and woman can live a carefree life. Like being a wife is a job, and after divorce they would get a huge dismissal pay...

I consider marriage to not be something that fits everyone. For me personally, I love marriage and I want to get married, but I don't have anything against people that live together for a long time and don't get married.
