Polar bears, they're classified as marine mammals because of their deep connection with sea ice in the Arctic ocean where they are all the time. They live on land but they could also swim for days at a time. Polar bears are excellent swimmers.

Anyone on HF would move to the artic and become friends with a polar bear and have as a pet?

Never worked with bears, but I have been told that they hold a grudge for longer more than a big cat. Also no exotic is really a pet, it's not like any of these animals are your your buddy at the end of the day they are dangerous and something which is from and in the wild good luck you'd be a hot lunch in no time.

Moving to the Artic seems a pretty cold and shitty idea OP. If I am to be brutally murdered by a wild animal I'd rather it at least be warm.. They are amazing creatures however, I agree on that.

I think of them as big ice bears that look cuter than they might be (in wild). Love looking at them and other water animals, too. I just don't think they should be encaged like that.
