About to graduate and landed a 70k job

So wow. It's been a long four years in college but it's paid off. I'm a soon to be college graduate and I just received a job that pays 70k.

I've been working throughout my college career to support myself financially (two sometimes three jobs at a time) and this feels amazing. I know 70k isn't much for some but for me it's a crazy amount. I aim to make more as I advance in my professional career but I just wanted to post this to give other people hope.

With the current times I'm one of the fortunate few leaving college with a job lined up. Hardwork trumps everything though. 4 years. 💯

That’s great man! I’m guessing you’ve also got opportunities to advance through the company as well? Hope you make the most of it bud 👍
That's amazing my man! Congratulations on this big achievement. It's not just "$70k" you earned or scammed someone, no! You are literally building up your future with such great job on your resume. Also, $2700~ a month is a great salary I think. Congratulations again!

Yeah, there's a whole corporate ladder. Guess I have to get used to being a white collar worker haha.

Thanks man! I really appreciate everyone's encouragement. Also, not to be uptight haha but it's $2700 bi-weekly, so about $5400 a month. Right now I'm making about $1600 a month so it's a crazy jump for me.
Congratulations buddy! Thats a great achievement. What degree will you graduate with?

Oh sh*t you're right! I just saw the $2700 and the $70k a year. Damned it my man, you did an amazing job haha.
So tell me, what is it that you'll be doing for the company? I assume you are responsible of managing the various resources working in the organization and the projects taken up. And what not? I mean it's a big task for most companies, but I'm not sure what your company does.

I'm graduating with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and  Minor in Computer Science. I've been doing software programming since I was 7 years old so I leveraged that into a category analyst position with this company.

So "marketing" is the umbrella term for what I'll be doing but specifically it's termed category management. Essentially, I'll be part of a team that analyzes a specific product that the company offers. Here are some of the responsibilities of the position:
  • Ability to evaluate and build business plans as it relates to marketing, pricing, product development and product merchandising.

  • Participate and track transition process across all relative departments.

  • Develop, analyze, and draw conclusions and make recommendations to management team for process improvement opportunities, ideas to increase sales, and other ways to improve the business and organization.

  • Exercise judgment to prioritize and communicate to meet and exceed project deadlines and commitments.

If you're good at this and you got enough spare time besides your main job, you should start your own agency regarding this.
You can charge a lot of money to increase profits for companies like you're doing for your main job's company. I find it highly interesting to analyse results and build plans for a better result in the future. You got yourself a golden egg too I think. Corona out there putting people at home and you got accepted for this amazing job, that isn't nothing my man ✌😎
Good shit man, keep working towards the next goal!

Becoming independent is definitely a long term goal. It helps to have clients that you’ve already built credibility and trust when transitioning into that position, so this is just a first step for me.

True that. How's your network? I noticed that some 'higher' people pulled a few strings in the past job wisely and a whole different world opens for you.
Not fair in some cases, but a big network can help you a lot when in need of something.
