Came back to HF for the first time in a while.
Would be cool if there was a section for VR gaming and/or development.
thanks

VR is really fun but I'm not sure it needs a forum of it's own. Searching for "virtual reality" (no quotes) provides a few pages of threads. Unfortunately it isn't as simple to search for simply "vr" because it is less than the minimum search length. I'm sure there are more threads with the "VR" instead of "Virtual Reality" in the thread subject. Searching for "oculus" provides several pages of results as well. A "vive" search also provides some results, but not as many. Searching for "PlayStation VR" (WITH quotes this time) and "morpheus" (without quotes again) nets a few results. "hololens" is another one along with all of "augmented reality" (with quotes). There are indeed numerous VR related threads already on HF. 😁 Check out the Google Trends data about "VR": https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=vr ![]() (May 3, 2020 01:07 PM)Xerotic Wrote: Searching for "virtual reality" (no quotes) provides a few pages of threads. Personally, I think VR is the absolute future and I’m just trying to get a head start. I would love to maybe buy a group one day on here and work towards establishing a proper VR/MR/AR dev team. I’m only back on this forum for a reason. Tetherless Virtual Reality devices will surpass the popularity of the modern day smart phone, along with the post modern day smart phone when it first was released.

Current situation surrounding VR is not sustainable, you need a minimum of $1000 to even get started and the only proper game so far has been Half Life Alyx, the rest are pretty much just experiments or sandboxes. I don’t know if you know what the ‘Oculus Quest’ is, but to put it simply: it’s the beginning. $400 to have a consistent experience each use. future
