Recovering Deleted Emails from My Gmail

Hello Friends,

I am currently going through a pretty contentious custody battle with my ex. This started about two years ago. About two years ago, my ex sent me a diatribe of an email basically explaining what she was trying to do to me in court. I deleted it simply because it was too hard to read, and I tend to ruminate on shit.

My lawyer said that having that email would be invaluable regarding our custody case moving forward.

I can't spend $50,000 to have google supoena'd and get the email returned to my gmail account.

What are my options here? Is there anyone that could potentially help me? This is my gmail account. I use it everyday.

Please help me...
Deal with this through your attorney.

Google only saves deleted email for up to 60 days. It's long gone at this point off Google servers. Your only hope is requesting discovery on the email account that sent you the email.

yeah this is what I was afraid of. However, requesting discovery in my opinion may not work. She most likely deleted it already, or will once she see's the motion asking for it, right?

The only other option I can think of, is taking the iphone I was using, and take it to a forensic hardrive company and see if they can get it...

Is this something that you think would work?

Thanks for the reply. Stay safe out there.

There are ways of preventing people from deleting data when court orders are involved. That's why I recommended you handle this the proper way through your legal representation.

I doubt you would get anything off an iphone that was from two or more years ago. Chances are iOS updates have overwritten the memory already multiple times.

I cracked the screen maybe a month after she sent it and bought a new one. It still turns on, I haven't used it since then. I reached out to a forensic hardrive company, and will see kinda what they think.
