We have a 2 way tie. Each got 7.5 out of 10. So it's time for Sudden Death. First to answer correctly wins.

Question: When traveling to the underworld in Greek Mythology, what must one make sure never to do lest one be stuck there forever?

Not try to marry the queen of the underworld like Pirithous did.

I will give DublA a half hour to give their answer before ruling. And just for dramatic kicks, I'm increasing the prize to 1k even though neither of you are Mystery Inc members. In a half hour I will award the prize, give the answers, and close the thread.

And I'm splitting the pot between you as the Sudden Death answer I was looking for was eating food from the underworld. You provided a specific example of someone being trapped but I asked what anyone must avoid. Most people wouldn't try to take Persephone lol. Anyway, here are the other answers.

1. Aside from silver, garlic, and holy objects, name a traditional Vampire weakness.

Garlic, sunlight, fire, OCD, flowing water.

2. How did Hercules manage to kill the Nemean Lion?

Strangling with bare hands

3. Who does Polyphemus tell his comrades is attacking him?

Nobody

4. Who is Athena's mother?

Metis but Zeus birthed her.

5. In Norse mythology, what is the cause of thunder?

It is the sound of Thor's hammer, Mjölnir, as he fucks up some giants with it.

6. In Norse mythology, to whom are cats sacred?

Freya

7. What did Athena do to get Athens named after her, and who was likely pissed off about it?

Gave the olive tree. And Poseidon was pissed off as he was the other God in the competition.

8. How was the Hydra vanquished?

Heads were cut off and the necks burned to prevent more heads.

9. What is the name of the ancient Roman wolf festival?

Lupercalia

10. Who really started the Trojan War? Hint: It's not one of the main 12.

Nemesis. She was pissed that she wasn't invited to a wedding so she crashed it and threw a golden apple inscribed "To The Most Beautiful" down the aisle and well, all hell broke loose from there.
