American Prison System

The system in America is crazy, I don’t understand how people haven’t been protesting about that as much as George Floyd’s death. People get locked up for years for petty crimes and crimes they didn’t even commit.

97% of people in prison in America have taken a plea bargain, with the threat of either going in for 5 years o 20 years, even those who didn’t commit the crime don’t want the possibility of the latter.

For example here are some stats
- UK: 1 in 751 people are in prison
- Canada: 1 in 903 people are in prison
- Mexico: 1 in 588 people are in prison
- Russia: 1 in 165 people are in prison

And America? 1 in 131 people are in prison
Brother is the Justice/Prison system are the next best thing to use to demonstrate the unfairness and unjust of racism. Give demographic of these races locked up in these countries and the facts will speak for itself.

It makes about 1 in 154 people in prison, not 1 in 131. Still big number though.
With that rate, prisons will get full quickly enough. Of course new prisons will be built, but my guess is that someone somehow profits from this.

Yeah, it all makes sense. More prisoners, more prisons, more business.
Its just buisness.
Plus when you get in jail for little things or even crimes you didn't even commit a story blow up about it
and scares other people
Scared nation is easier to control.
These statistics are scary, I live in America and have been arrested a few times. I never knew how much worse it was here.

The American court system is fucked. The FBI categorises people with having committed a crime based on little evidence even if there is only a slight lead. For example there are people on here that were arrested for merely owning a hacking tool despite never using it at all. In America authorities have too much power and cut too many corners. They are way too cautious and don't investigate thoroughly.

I have made it a rule of mine to never under any circumstance live in America
Hey it makes sense man I’ve never seen a cop confront another cop here despite seeing quite some violence. I’ve been body slammed and tossed around plenty. I’ve had a friend hit in the head with a flashlight and spit on it’s terrible they treat you like a dog once you’re locked up.

I've thought about living there in the future, and after seeing these stats it has really changed my mind.

Where do you live now?
The low numbers of mexico are mainly because of corruption :(

I live in the UK at the moment, don't plan on moving country but I always toy with the idea in the future, I wouldn't at the moment.
It's a business they get money from the government and police have incentive to arrest people same with the prosecutors.
