Transaction pending 1 day+

Hey guys, I made a transaction of ERC20 token on Ethereum blockchain.
It is 1 day and 5 hours now. It's still appears as "pending" in etherscan.
I scrolled the fee (gwei) to the minimum on Ledger Live app when I did it.
Will it ever go through?

Edit: I chose minimum fee because it still seemed pretty high, I mean:
Max Txn Cost/Fee:
0.006 Ether ($1.35)
It will prob go through eventually. Had a btc tx take 3+ days and it eventually did.

Pal that's MAX you'll likely have ended up spending like 10 cents. This is what you get for being so cheap you weren't willing to spend 11 cents for 30 minute wait time. This is like people who send thousands in bitcoin for 50 cents yet choose to choose fees under 1 cent because they are cheap.

Yeah and MAX $1.36 is what I'd think is normal to spend on a $400 transaction? If max is $1.36 and min is $0.01, I thought it'd somewhere in the middle around 50 cents and that seemed reasonable. 🤯

So what did you put then?

I'm not too sure bruh, I just scrolled the bar to the left, but as I see it already deducted 0.006 ETH ($1.39 actually) from my account for the transaction.

Bitcoin is sending slow too. Took me 4 hours to get a payment of $35~ while the $280~ went almost within an hour.
This was only the case though this afternoon and about an hour from now ago.
2 days 2h and it still hasn't gone through dammit...

You gotta stop being a LN freak. ETH transactions are neither slow or expensive when compared to BTC especially. And few wallets support LN and I still can't really figure out how to efficiently use it. As if everyone is going to create their own nodes for that crap. Sorry but LN is a failed solution, you just ain't seen it yet. Might work for enterprise but not the general public.

As for OP, you say you sent from a Ledger app. It also says you're trying to send to the Walton Chain..?

Also looks like some other transactions to the address are Pending for past 2-3 days.

That’s tuff man hope it wasn’t for a timed payment

That's a start. But most members pay from wallets like Exodus, Coinbase, or Blockchain that don't support LN. Blockchain is a really popular wallet and they don't even support Segwit. I have to run a legacy wallet just because of the amount of members who couldn't pay segwit addresses.

1000+ installs, that's almost nothing

10k+ installs....that's better

I don't see how that's true. You have extra data you have to enter. You have the most popular services and wallets that don't support it.

I dare you to try to make the simplest way for someone to send a LN payment. Here is CLI version...

And I dare you to try to make a tutorial on accepting a LN payment.

Quote:I'll admit I am griefing ETH users about fees/confirmation times because of Vitalik doing the same about bitcoin. ETH, and any other blockchain, still suffers from the exact same scaling trade offs that bitcoin does.

The LN is coming to Ethereum. And when it does then what's going to be your argument that BTC is better?

Ethereum has done more transactions per day for the past 2 years.

I ran a LN node for a short time. If there is no profit what's the incentive to run nodes? Saving fees for exchanges that do large volume transactions makes sense but why would they risk their security by making it an open node?

And I admit there are plenty of things I don't know about LN, when I have time I'll experiment more and read up on things.

I sent from the Ledger app, yes. Transaction goes to the token contract address, but as you can see, I transferred my tokens to this address: https://etherscan.io/address/0x0c4868d7b...9aee8ee9d1

Quick googling returns, that unfortunately there's no way to cancel the transaction in Ledger. You possibly could with the MEW, but not with Ledger.
It also says that if it doesn't get mined it'll eventually run out of Gas and transaction will be dropped. It will disappear and my coins will stay in in my Ledger. That wouldn't be too bad.
I also have a couple of mining rigs, maybe it's possible to point them to mine specific transaction? I'll read up on that now. :)

Edit: It's not really possible if anyone's interested. 🙂
Quote:You could try to confirm it by mining a block in which you explicitly include said transaction. However, unless you have very powerful mining hardware, it is highly unlikely that you will succeed any time soon to solo-mine a block.

2 days and few hours later it went through eventually.
I made another transaction of ETH (note - not the same token as original transfer) from the same wallet but with appropriate fees, I am not sure if that's what helped. (I saw people suggesting it on reddit)

It did help because you used the same nonce with a higher fee which basically “overrides” your old transaction. I have a tutorial on how to do this step-by-step. Did you use the search function at all?

I didn't use the same nonce. And it didn't override my transaction. The original transaction (with low fees) went through. The second one, (of the same token) failed, and the last ETH transaction went through as well.
