Lawyers for hackers / criminals ?

I recently had a chat with my dad about this. He reckons there’s lawyer/lawyer agencies that take cases / help people who they personally know/suspect are guilty of an offence, and help them knowing this (because of good money), aka sacrificing their moral code to chase the bag.

My question is, how would one go about finding these lawyers. In the payment processor, a high risk merchant is known to deal with casino, weed dispensaries, nutra, adult and other scams, is there a similar keyword for lawyers? High risk lawyers?

This is genuinely out of curiosity, sorry feds reading, no drama for you today :)

This.

As long as you can talk to them on a theoretical level, then you can usually find out their stance on such a thing.

"Okay so let's say theoretically I did do this, what would be the hypothetical results in minimum and maximum sentence" or whatever.

I had a lawyer that was like Saul Goodman I swear, dirtiest most scungiest lawyer, but always got me off scott-free
Client - Counsel privilege is a thing. Criminal defense lawyers earn through the defense of the guilty in a lot of cases.

Is it immoral? No. It would be immoral if an accused is punished without a trial. I know lawyers who solely work with rich deviants and work to get them out on bail when they're arrested for petty issues like drunk driving etc.

I think they are just doing their jobs. It is the responsibility of a lawyer to defend his client either guilty or not
Welcome to the real world, these lawyers exist for decades buddy.

You’d be looking for a white collar criminal defense attorney. You’d present your case to them, ask if they could be of help, and go from there.
I study law at one of the most Famous colleges in India. My college is very known for having one of the best Criminal Lawyers. So most of the people who study with me are mostly Children of Gansters/Criminals or Crimnal Lawyers.

I guess these are type of people you should go to, As far as term goes they are referred to as "Criminal Lawyers"
Thanks for the replies everyone!

This is super interesting. I have another question. Within the criminal lawyer sector/niche per say, is there agencies that specialise with different areas of it? Say for example hacking, murder, theft? If so, is it easy to find lawyers that can defend blackhat/hacking activities?

Also, is there a good way to identify the law firms (via website, office etc) that are down to work with people they know have committed fraud, or is it just a matter of asking? Like maybe some firms seem less well funded (bad website, cheap office?), so they’d be more down to help criminals.

Yes. It is. You should be able to tell them everything. It is a business after all. It's immoral but so is the justice system in some regards.
