The past month or so I keep getting positive ratings from people I've never had any contact with nor have reason to rate me.
Every time it's on days I'm logged in to the site even though I did not interact nor posted anything. (Mainly lurking these days)
Which makes me think they're just finding me from a (recently) online list or something.

In fact I just received 2 more while typing here.

It's clear that they're trying to get a + rating back (rate 4 rate). Especially since some will quickly change to negative if i rate them an "i don't know you" 🤣

I don't know if the max. rating per day cap or whatever has changed and the system became completely meaningless or something.
However it's bothering me, since these green + addicts poison the system of actually contributing something to receive a +.
And I don't want their meaningless +'s.

Do I report these people? Can I stop the rating spam somehow with an account setting?


ps. Not sure if this was the right place for this, I thought anywhere else would be worse than here.

Also I don't understand the reason of existence for the rating system at all if there's no rules to it attached anymore. Just a way to scam newbies easier?

You don't understand because you have better things to do. The popularity system as the name says is for popularity. For the marketplace we have b-rating. Now please, read the Help Docs.

Anyway, it's not like you got 50 popularities in the last 24h, you got 7 popularities in the last 6 months. You can't disable for someone to give you popularity.

I don't understand why the system even exists if there's no rules anyways. It's just who spams others the most to get rates back. And then you can easily scam some noobs with your "big popularity" with some shitty ebooks. But this has always been the core business here of course. And it's not my decision to have this system or not, nor does it hurt me a lot apart from these rate4raters bothering me.

Either way I got 3 ratings right now being logged in for a few mins and 2 on the 2 other days I was online for more than a minute too. So it's a clear online monitoring thing from green hungry girls like you who need to act cocky to a simple complaint that coulve been answered in 2 lines.

Calling the popularity system a way for members to get scammed is simply an insult to Omni and Xero doing hard work to prevent it by implement the b-rating for example

It is a method for privileged members to give their opinion about other users for the rest of HF to see.
