Dear HF,
As I used to study cinematography and currently looking for projects to start, it came to my mind, that it MIGHT be interesting to make a Short Documentary about HackForums.
Which, would of course require to include an interview with Omni, and other members of the forum.
Do you think this is something that would be possible?
This would not only be interview, but I am just wondering if I should even ask them.
PS. I have made Short and Long documentaries before, gaining some traction on Youtube.
As someone that works as a freelance cinematographer that also worked on a bigger documentary about this kind of subject. I am not sure if it's useful. It would only really hit the community of HF and wouldn't have a deeper layer. Unless you can think of something? it needs a deeper layer than just HF. It needs something memorable that makes people keep watching. What happened on HF? anything people might know it for?

That is the thing, Hackforums, if presented the right way, may appeal to other people to watch it, and regardless of that, I think it could be nice to make for the community of HF :)
If you really wanted it to appeal to those outside of HF on a larger scale, you'd have to focus most likely on depicting it as some kind of scary hacker forum with way worse stuff than you'll ever find here, which would probably hurt the forum overall and attract the wrong kinds of people.
As for getting owners involved, never spoke to him but I assume it's unlikely. Impossible to tell how the end product will turn out, so he may not want to put his name beside it in terms of an interview in case it's not received well/turns out poorly, but that's purely speculation.
Sounds very interesting however, and if you manage to work something out I'm sure it'll turn out great.
Make sure to include me as HF's biggest weaboo
thanks
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
It will all be fun and colors, just until..
they reveal all the e-whores of the forum

Not really trying to advertise for HF, more make one for the community, essentially Starting from the beginning and cover its history.
And when people see or hear something weird enough, it will catch their attention.

Yeah absolutely, there's a lot of stuff you could cover from the development of the forum that ended with the systems we have today to combat scammers, the games on site, Bytes etc.
Just would be careful of where you post/advertise it etc, as say if it were on youtube may gain unwanted attention of people from outside the forum who perceive it differently and may cause more harm than good.

I would have to have Omni in it, so I guess that will be the main factor, whether or not I will even be making it.
Other than that, I am also thinking about the more personal things that have happened in here, noticable members that might have done stuff over the years.

I've only ever see HF portrayed (negatively) in articles about cybercrime, specifically that mirai incident a couple years back that had Omni close down an entire subforum.
This is why it is good that I would be making it, meaning I can put whatever premise I would like on the documentary, which, in this case, would be a positive one.
As in, not talking about all the criminal stuff, but more talking about the history of the forum, what has happened and what is memorable of what has happened. (insert good stuff here) lol
