Are you able to get this for other carriers or is it strictly Verizon?

Hi great question. I tried looking to see if there is a way to unlock these for other carriers, but I couldn't find anything.

Unfortunately because devices are Verizon locked, you won't be able to use your own Sim cards unless it's through Verizon. However, if you are in an area with Verizon coverage this is a pretty hard to beat deal.

Yeah the only downside to that though is that Verizon phones don't use sim cards the last time I checked, right? So even if I were to switch mine over it wouldn't make a difference iirc?

Verizon phones do use sim cards, but the technology is different from other service providers such as AT&T, etc. Verizon uses CDMA and AT&T uses GSM.

Ah, I'm thinking back years ago when Verizon didn't have a sim card at all and they were programmed from the store.

Though I'm sure all companies have one of the newer sim's now. Regardless I'll keep this in mind for the future when on vacation and trips. ✔

Is this prepaid?
I would rather just pay for a month of data whenever I need it instead of being locked into a bill.

Yes you can pay month to month with no contracts.
