I tried looking to see if there is a way to unlock these for other carriers, but I couldn't find anything. Unfortunately because devices are Verizon locked, you won't be able to use your own Sim cards unless it's through Verizon. However, if you are in an area with Verizon coverage this is a pretty hard to beat deal. (Sep 17, 2020 01:08 PM)SIM-1980240 Wrote: Hi great question. Yeah the only downside to that though is that Verizon phones don't use sim cards the last time I checked, right? So even if I were to switch mine over it wouldn't make a difference iirc?

Verizon phones do use sim cards, but the technology is different from other service providers such as AT&T, etc. Verizon uses CDMA and AT&T uses GSM. Ah, I'm thinking back years ago when Verizon didn't have a sim card at all and they were programmed from the store. Though I'm sure all companies have one of the newer sim's now. Regardless I'll keep this in mind for the future when on vacation and trips. ✔ (Sep 17, 2020 09:34 PM)William Murderface Wrote: Is this prepaid? Yes you can pay month to month with no contracts. |
