Hey there. I hope everyone is having a good Friday. I'm very new hear, still getting a feel for things. I was just curious to find out if there are other people who enjoy investing and trading. I've had a good amount of success with it after my brother in law and some other friends who work in finance helped me get spun up on it. Always on the look out for people who are active traders too.
If you are, what are you liking right now?
I do but I only invest and hold. I stopped trading regularly a couple decades ago. I am risk adverse so I prefer to find great long-term investments and just sit on them. Even better if a dividend is involved.
btw, my biggest investment this year was Cloudflare which is up 400% in the past year.

but the EPS is shit. it's right now at -0.72 So for every share you hold you're losing 72 cents. You said long term so I assume you're holding it more than 2 years. Which is not a bad stock but I only invest in dividend stocks.
I really should start investing, it seems like there is a lot of policies and rules within this, and a lot of fees? But is it easier than I think to get started?
(Not asking if it easy to earn money, just asking how difficult it is to set up)

I'm an active trader. I trade everyday. Let me know if you have any questions. As of right now, I'm holding onto big tech and actively trading in energy, and industrials.

Fairly easy to setup. Fees vary base on which platform you’re using to trade.

Any chance you could help with this one day, or should I look maybe somewhere? Youtube, something like that?

I swing trade, but I only enter a few positions a month. Right now huge on SPAQ merging to FSR at the end of this month.

Meaningless on a startup that's taking their capital and re-investing.
Amazon for example was losing billions and had a terrible EPS for many years. Even when it hit profit it was minor.
Cloudflare easily worth $100B as a company. I can imagine any giant tech company wanting to buy them and paying a 2-3x multiple.

All of my stocks are long term. I don't play in options, I'm not looking for fast plays, etc. A portion of my retirement account is managed by a firm and it's used to buy and sell stocks. I don't get involved in that though- they're paid to make good decisions that result in my accounts growing. Else they aren't paid. So while my money is being used to play the stock market, and they probably trade much more rapidly than I do, the stocks I buy and manage on my own are much more conservative
It seems to me that ETF-500 have been constantly improving for decades.

Very recently was looking into getting into it, especially after seeing a user on here selling signals and all his customers seemed to be happy.
But the way taxes work on it is a bit fucky for Canadians, so not really sure if I'm going to bother.
Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

I'm going to start investing. I believe it's important to get into this while you're young. Not for the money but for the experience and knowledge
