So this happened 2 days ago when I was walking to work, that it was just too crazy not to share. One of the most shocking and crazy things to happen in my boring life.
So I live pretty close to my work, and I walk to work sometimes when I can't get a ride. I walk along the train tracks with no problem mostly. That day I was walking, and I noticed that there was a mom and her son (no more than 4 years old) trying to get over to the train tracks. Between the train tracks and the woods there is this crick type thing which is really muddy, so she was trying to walk along a log to get over with her son. As I was walking by she stopped me and asked me to hold her sons hand and help him over, so I did. As we were waiting there for his mom to cross over, I hear this train horn blaring behind me. Without even thinking or looking, I grab pick this kid up and jump over this crick, getting my shoes muddy but making it over safely. Nobody was hurt. Got over within 3 seconds of the train passing us. Heard the conductor yell at me "IDIOT!!" as he went by. Yeah I know man, I should have gotten him to the side of the track but we were only standing there for a few seconds.
We didn't even hear this train coming until it honked its horn, and me and the mom were just standing there in shock about what just happened. Before I left she said "thank you for saving his life".
Was the craziest thing i've ever experienced.
