So I got a manager in Oct thinking he would help me get some brand deals that I wasn’t already getting. I was wrong he’s getting exactly what I was getting but instead taking a “finders fee” of more than 70% I also have proof of that as well. Since I caught him doing that which I’m pretty sure is illegal regardless if they call it a finders fee but I’m no lawyer. So I just simply stop replying to him and took his email out of my bio and he just said he’s gonna take legal actions against me and audit me after 3 years. In contract he’s not allowed to go to the actual court he has to go thru the private courts so not something I’m worried about it.
Moral of the story don’t be dumb and sign a contract for a manager who is likely just gonna steal from you.
Edit: on top of that he’s going to try and dispute all payments he’s paid to me after completed campaigns but I have proof that they were completed so I’m pretty sure I’ll win that with PayPal

No.....

Contracts are very useful tools when used correctly. Your wisest move at this point in time would be to consult a lawyer and look over your options.

Yeah I’m doing that currently because 70% is way to high and there are laws against that the second I found out I basically stopped working with him. The contract is super broadly worded
I know they take a crazy fee. From the marketing and business I've learned on HF I could probably do whatever he does on my own lol. Quick question, what exactly did you need a manager for? Music or something along those lines?

I make videos online and basically just do ad placements the whole point of me signing was for him to get me with bang since it’s hard to reach them because I already got brand deals to begin with just not that company. So basically he was useless and just took 70% of what I was already getting myself before him. And I’m like 90% sure there’s a law against them taking more than 30%

Yeah it's an annoying situation but he def can't do much but harass me like normal debt collectors so I'm not to concerned about it he just got jealous i'm doing much better without him and he can't steal 70% of my income.

Would you really read the user agreements/terms and conditions on sites and softwares too?
The LORD is my strength and shield.

Yeah definitely agree with this. There is a reason contracts are a thing and are legally binding
