Welcome👋
I know that this question can cause a lot of controversy, so I'm sorry, I didn't want to start wars😅
I am not able to answer this question unequivocally because I am very torn between the two series.
I love RE for its unique atmosphere and plot, and SH for its extraordinary atmosphere and unconventional solutions worthy of Sthepen King👌😎
What do you think???

Depends tbh.
Not all the Silent Hill games are fun like Resident Evil. But Resident Evil does have a lot of shit games too.
For horror aspects I'd say Silent Hill. But if you want a good zombie action game then Resident Evil it is. I dislike Res 6. But Res 4 & 5 are my favorites. The remake of 2/3 is amazing though.
What I want is PT (if you know of it.) but it won't ever get released sadly. :/

I also regret about P.T, I'm sure it would be a great horror movie, especially with Norman Reedus in the lead role😎👍

Silent Hill was fun, but I've always really enjoyed the Resident Evil series.
Even with the remakes, I still load up the originals and play through them.
Resident Evel series for sure, though SH was great on ps1

I had the same, I spent more time on RE, however, Silent Hill has a unique atmosphere that has not been possible to recreate any other game of this type.

I haven't had a chance to play SH ps1 myself (I used to emulate a PC).

I think Res 4 is probably the best zombie single player game ever made for sure. I might be biased though.. I remember as a kid when that game came out playing it with some friends late at night scaring the shit out of us. Makes me feel old af thinking about that

I also😆
And you are right RE 4 is one of the best parts that have been released (although I am very fond of RE 6, hated by everyone for the amazing campaign of Leon😁👍).

Both are godly franchises.... But! I'd say SH has way more "soul" put into it...

Yes, and at the same time it has tension and a unique atmosphere of terror. And also a brilliant soundtrack🎶👍

SH definitely has better music than RE tho... SH basically introduced me to the trip-hop genre

After all, Akira Yamaoka himself was responsible for the soundtrack. He always made outstanding music which is clearly visible in all parts of SH.
