Axie Infinity is a blockchain-based PVP game inspired by Pokemon & Tamagotchi.
Where people battle out each other with cute little creatures called "Axies" who are digital pets with various powers.
It is one of the TOP NFT Projects in the Crypto ecosystem.

These guys are all about building community and giving back to the community. All the price action is majorly driven by community members of funds who are into NFTs and participating in their ecosystem by using Land or giving out scholarships to people who can't afford Axies on revenue sharing.
People in India/Philippines are playing Axie Infinity 14-16 hours a day and making a lot of money instead of doing the job as the standard of living is high and playing PUBG or Clash of Clan doesn't make you any money.
I got to interview these guys when the price of AXS the governance token was around 0.32 - 0.8 and now it's trading at $7.8~

The "axie" creatures design are a bit low effort ngl... I do like turn-based games tho so I'll look more into it.
From what I understand, it looks like you have to purchase three of these axie creatures using ETH just to get started. At the moment the cheapest ones are going for 0.07 ETH... that seems like way too high of a barrier for entry to me.
Am I misunderstanding something here?

Am I misunderstanding something here? No you're not, there is a cost attached to it as these Axies make you money back when you're playing the game. So these are assets you're buying, you can also breed your Axies and whatnot, so think of them as owning an actual pet, who makes your profit(even tho I don't recommend doing that irl.)
Also there are scholarship programs where people lend out their Axies to people who can't afford it and do profit share.

I don't, but I will when they move to a layer 2 solution so I can buy Axies for way cheaper and not pay gas fees.
That's why just buying tokens as of now.

That's how I feel with most of those Uniswap coins/NFTs/staking that takes place on ETH. But honestly the graphics and idea of this game captivates me. What's better than an NFT which actually has a use? Thanks for exposing me to this.

Just came back to thank you for this thread buddy. I've been buying AXS and scaling in since my first post on this thread. I've also been breeding and giving out a ton of scholarships. Let's go. :')
I'm bullish as well and more interested to see the land Gameplay
Maybe we can see a guild buying few plots and launching a gym system as of pokemon as well
Though I haven't played the game because of high entry prize and haven't got any scholarship in last 15 days
The best price after the update that require 4 AXS to breed will be around $6-7 and AXS now is a bit overbought now
Hope I get a scholarship soon to buy my own axies before land gameplay 😏😏
