The best advice I could give you for something like this is to ALWAYS USE A MIDDLEMAN if you're uncertain or skeptical about the seller.

Using one in general will save you in the long run overall.

Also side note to keep in mind ajaysthinkin - offsite screenshots for proof aren't considered as "proof" unfortunately; however the dispute is valid since you two do have an HF Contract together for the deal.
