Just wondering does your bot only use quantiative analysis or also qualitative too?

I have an qualitative overlay (i.e. discretionary) that I apply, but I've stopped it for the time being to free up capital.

I'm a new lurker on HF (literally first post) but was intrigued by this idea. I tried to start something similar with a few friends in early 2017. Wasn't able to get it off the ground and I went back to managing my own funds.
Regarding qualifications:
1. I’ve had crypto accounts for a while. Was using Vircurex exchange way back when (2014-2015) and other P2P sites to buy BTC and LTC. Vircurex got hacked right around the Mt Gox hacked, so goodbye everything. Didn’t have cold wallets setup like an idiot.
2. Built an arbitrage bot around 2016-2017. I’m a shit programmer but nonetheless enjoyed building the bot nights and weekends. I connected to something like 65 exchanges and could arbitrage across a few thousand trading pairs. It went live and made a few bucks, but maintaining the code was a shitshow and I couldn’t dedicate time to it. A few friends were interested in getting involved but by the time I could get back around to it, fees had increased / CEX transaction time was longer, and the trading logic required revisiting. My logic for it is still viable, but opportunity is eroding crypto matures / moves to DEX, plus I don’t have the skillset for any “real” development. I stopped building and went back to investing. I also used ProfitTrailer for a while around 2016ish.
3. I’ve invested in a lot. Hundreds of different pairs (personally, not programmatically - programmatically would be much more). I’ve built a lot (including overnight huge 500%+ runs on massive bets), and then lost 90%+ of my portfolio in a matter of weeks (thank you 2018 crash), and have more carefully rebuilt from there.
4. Capital constraint isn't a primary issue right now. I’m looking at a few different mainstream projects. Had some nice runs with ADA, HBAR, BNB, and a few others. Top of mind today are DOT, ALGO, Radix (just like all of HF it seems), XMR, VET and others. Looking to consolidate into a few new small(ish) cap projects over the next few months.
What I’m looking for:
1. Exposure to small market cap projects with solid fundamentals. I don’t need to know if a coin exists or not, I can look at CMC or 37 other sites to find small coins. Solid backers, solid team, solid fundaments - that’s what I need help finding.
2. People who are passionate about the crypto space (both in terms of long term impact and investment opportunity)
3. People who understand the different between value and perceived value as it relates to short and long term investment.
4. Finally, people with engineering / comp sci backgrounds who actually are comfortable looking under the hood at technical fundamentals, and who are open to sharing ideas.
5. Not critical for me, but I’m open to partnering on something in the crypto space - I have a market ideas I’m starting to build cases for, but in most cases my technical background is just not sufficient to either complete the research or build a prototype. What would take me a week, someone smart could do in an hour.
What I don’t want:
1. My username may be “crypto_kid”, but I don’t want noobs who can’t tell the different between a DENT or SNOVIO coin and XMR.
2. People who talk a big game and can’t back it up. I don’t want to hear from the “lambo” kid who has $100 to their name, got lucky on one bet and know has $200, claiming they’re a fugging genius. I know it because I used to be that guy.
3. Dependent thinkers - people who look at newsfeed, assume it’s right, and start recommending bs based on “general” consensus
Questions for you:
1. What type of group are you creating here, what’s the purpose?
2. How’re you structuring the conversation?
3. What are you expecting from participants?
4. What're the benefit of joining?
5. How would you answer your own qualification questions?
Thanks,
ck

1. Idea generation for mid/long-term holdings, trading improvement on short-term news-driven plays, and general discussion that isn't herd mentality plays.
2. There's a minimum requirement of 1 unique idea per fortnight that's shared in our subforum. Can't be something publicly discussed on the public forum here and there's a set format to structure ideas.
3. Same as 2, the main thing I'm looking for is people who don't follow the crowd/have critical thought.
4. Exposure to the idea generation process. Anyone can go at it alone, but there's only so much research one person can do in a day, so this is just to help people filter trading ideas to get rid of the 90% of the garbage that's out there.
5.
Quote:Have you deployed your own trading algorithm (not someone else's product) in live markets with real capital?
Yes
Quote:Do you have investments in more than three different crypto ecosystems/chains?
Yes, have substantial holdings in VET, multiple tokens on AVAX, and some core ERC-20 holdings.
Quote:Have you made more than 5x in the last 3 months?
No due to the portfolio drag on my VET and ERC-20 holdings, however, the active part of my portfolio has done about a 3x (mostly the AVAX plays).
Shoot me a convo request if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the reply and congrats on the 3x in 3ish months. The group sounds great and I appreciate your structure. I'd be interested in trying it out if there's room. I'm unable to send messages since this is my 2nd thread response and HF seems to require 10 before DMs are allowed.
Thank you for the message - I still can't respond without posting 10 times. I'll try to work around it / weigh in in a couple of other places. I can read your message though, in case there's another medium we can use to touch base. I have a discord somewhere and can obviously email and such.
Very good group - been sharing some of our DD lately and money has been all around. 🤑

Best of luck with the group moving forward!
Is this version of the Terminal userbar larger than the original?
Something looks off and I'm almost positive it's thicker now. Just something I noticed.
OT though: Absolute best of luck with the group Neal Caffrey , glad to see you finally owning your own group.
bugga told me I'm a cutie
Haha this broke kid was finally able to afford a group. GG neal bwoi.

At what point do accounts get closed/groups taken if inactive?

I think there is a prune to inactive accounts. But it’s years after last activity I believe.
So not gonna happen anytime soon.

Depends on a few things, pruned acc is a no as that takes a very long time, however he is eligible whenever Omni decides unless discussed before his departure. I'm personally on team Neal is in prison for tax evasion but that's just me.
