Anyone have autism or an autistic sibling?

So I have a twin brother (paternal) who is autistic, learning disability and suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. I use to live at home and moved out because of him. He has random outbursts of anger, behaves like a child, gets mad over dumb things, slams his door, cries and does things that I don't understand whatsoever. It's been like this since I've been a kid before I knew he was autistic as he did things even when I was like 5/6 years old I was thinking to my self "Wtf is wrong with this kid." We're both about to turn 24 in about 5 weeks and his behavior is almost child like still. He is always constantly angry, depressed or something. Living with him or being around him is a burden. He text's me constantly terrible things, for example I had covid and he told me he hopes I die from covid. All in general his behavior is really insane. I don't really talk to him anymore as his behavior just seems to have gotten worse. In MS/HS I use to always have more friends, did sports, went to college, etc so he's kind of lived in my shadows. I think jealousy always plays a role with his behavior.

Unfortunately I'll never understand his process of thinking or his mind as I'm not him. But I can really say I do hope the best for him and I'm nice with him as much as I am.

Anyone else experience the same?
Yeah it sounds like he was dealt a shit hand and will likely be fucked for life. Autism is something that for people who don't have it likely wouldn't be able to comprehend/understand it.

Sorry to hear. Sounds like he'll be like that forever and always.

I don't have autism and I don't know anyone close to me who has autism. I do know one of my cousin's children has autism and flicks light switches on/off/on for super long periods of time.

I wouldn't like to think he'll be like that forever/always. I do have a bit of hope he'd get better. His autism isn't nearly as bad as other cases and he's fully functional at the moment. He works and even has a good group of friends. But his home behavior/outside are 2 different people.
I don't have a sibling with autism, but I've had a few past coworkers who were autistic. They do the same things, such as lashing out for seemingly no reason, being overly assertive, being really talkative, and acting like children. And keep in mind that these are also people in their 20s. Sometimes they don't realize what they're doing; however, sometimes they do and use it to their advantage (keep that in mind). The main thing you have to do is be patient, even when it gets hard to deal with them. There's not a whole lot you can do to stop it or help them.

Yeah you would know better than me. I guess it's possible he can manage it. Especially if it's not super bad. I know many cases can be. Can he go reasonable periods of time with regular communication?

Do you have any fond memories of him? Would he seem somewhat normal to a stranger, who maybe saw him for an hour?

Are you sure he hasn't been misdiagnosed and is actually just a woman? He has all the symptoms.

(Sorry, bit of misogynist humour there for the 1980s dads).

That sounds tough. I don't have anyone in my family that has autism, but a few people close to me have had quite severe mental illness that badly impairs their ability to function. It's very tough. Is your brother on medications, had any CBT? Can you talk to him about his condition? (ie how aware is he of how his behaviour impacts?).

He can be reasonable at periods but lately he's kind of been all over the place. he's got his moments. And with strangers? I'm not sure, he's a bit awkward and socially weird. But at times he can be really funny and normal I guess. Really depend son the situation. But for the most part I'd say no. And I do have some fond memories with him.

He is on a bunch of medications such as anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, etc. And he was forced into therapy after he was admitted into a psych ward. I tried talking to him about his behavior but he kind of refuses to accept he is autistic.
My folks wtf and grainy are autistic but I still love them.

I got my autistic relative arrested this year for beating me. ☹️ It took me the full year because the police were so damn scared of being accused of being mean to an autistic teen so they just preferred for me to get beat up and they kept telling me there was nothing they could do until the neighbors complained to police after a year of it. I'm female fyi.

Of course the charges were dropped because lol he's autistic.
He grandmother was a paranoid schizophrenic so God I hope he doesn't develop that as well later. I'm concerned about that. How old was your brother when he developed schizophrenia?
my step-brother Lavish Living is autistic.
sounds like you are just misunderstanding. He has it harder than you I'm sure, maybe you should try to fix your guys relationship instead of rant about it.

I know shizo people are hard to deal with but just be nice to him WHEN you have to be around him...

He was like 19/20 when he started to develop it. I sometimes wonder if I suffer from it to a degree as there are times (especially after a night of drinking or drugs) that I'm extremely paranoid and filled with delusions. But I'm smart enough o kind of control them and realize what is happening to me.

Yeah I really want to fix our relationship. He's been a misunderstood kid his whole life. As I've said I've always had friends, social life, girls were into me, did sports, was a competitive powerlifter, good grades, etc (not to hype myself up since in reality I don't think I'm anything special). But in contrast to him I've had everything he's always wanted I'm sure.

It's hard to get along with him since he treats my Mother/sisters so terribly. He also doesn't seem to be able to reason with a lot of times.
