Group Notification

To the group owners, I know many ask about better notification methods for group members. What I think might work is for the GroupCP (all owners have access) to have a form to send out a Notification to all members. Would that be used and is it sufficient enough as a contact to all members?
Either this, or a way to see which group members are subscribed to the subforum would greatly help.
That would work. I would take it to the next level and force on site notifications for new threads in the subforum 😉
I think allowing leaders is ok too, not only owners.

Definitely a cool idea. Would be great if you add this for leaders as well.

Another cool idea would be the ability to check member activity. It can be as simple as seeing the total number of posts via group sub-forum from a member.
That sounds great.

There was also a bug where we decided to lock a subforum and even people without the password could see the posts because they had subscribed to the sf prior to locking.

Sure sounds great to me.
It would be a great option to have.

I like this. Only the leadership, or owner, of each group should be able to send a mass message to their group members like that.

I was very against every suggestion that enabled this ability for non-group leaders, regular forum members, etc. It would have been a recipe for abuse and immaturity.

Yeah but just kick anyone that abuses it? Especially in small niche groups when would it ever be an issue? I'm not necessarily for it, but I'm not against it being for any group member.

That would mean group leaders would have access to the group control panel.
I don’t think this would be a good idea.

Too many things in there they don’t need to see or touch.

With all due respect, if you don’t trust your leaders why have them as leaders?

Don't need to see? That's a bit weird.

I could see not trusting people to touch, especially people who paid for their leadership spot.

Would be cool if owners had like slider options for their leaders.

I have no paid member spots and as for my leaders they earned their spots.

Now as for sliders as you say. This could work for leaders.

It’s not about trust.
Ever here of a rough leader kicking the entire member base.
Having access to the group control panel would give them access to sub forums password.

And group requirements to join.

A leader could change all of that and basically locking out the owners to their sub forums
And having every Tom and dick putting in join requests.

I have already kicked on leader for doing something similar.

Edit: here’s a solution. Give both group owners and leaders the option to send notifications but make a additional tab in the manage group section.
There problem solved.

I think this would be greatly beneficial so we can send out notifications to the whole group rather than tagging each member individually. I know I would use this frequently.

It would be a great way to drive activity within the subforums and on-site as a whole.
Staff will never reach out to you off-site. We only communicate on HF.

I wasn't implying you, narcissist. .

I am not going to add a plugin that hooks into that just for that feature.

I am already planning a comprehensive group page which would include things like stats and last active and so-forth.

That's a mybb bug. Report it to them. When they fix it, I'll fix it.

What is a "slider option"?
