Option to delete threads

So im thinking there's already a option to delete your own replies from your own thread, what if there was a option to delete threads
for example old threads.

What do you guys think?

Damn, that was 5 years ago already.
I hope he will consider reinstating it.

I think it's a good idea, i don't see how removing your own thread could be bad for the community
Thank you dunesofsand

Junking threads affect SEO to some extent. Suppose a thread is ranking good for a certain keyword phrase. User junks it and the traffic that would have arrived to forum through that thread title is gone to some other site.

Most probably this won’t be reinstated but Omniscient is forum administrator; It’s his sole discretion to reinstate it back or not.

never been a fan of the choice to remove the feature.

I’d like to have it back as well
I get why it was abused and the decision to remove it.

I do believe it would still be a nice function to have.
If it was reinstated, I would recommend a 1 delete per month (maybe even bimonthly), to avoid abuse.
Edit: now that I think about it, a byte cost could even be instated in addition to the monthly/bimonthly exception.

Hopefully this gets brought back, I think most reasonable members would be OK with a restriction or something to prevent abuse.
I'd love to erase all evidence of my skid past, but the feature being removed for some years now I just leave it as is. Other than that, I've not another purpose for using the feature.

Regardless, in terms of that, I feel like it works out better in the end. Programmers of all walks of life and experience can look into my old threads. Only takes a look at a few posts to notice the fact that I started out that same way, just as many others did. Now here I am doing the same for others as those around back then when I was in that position did for me. Spoonfeeding or not, I try not to blow off question threads just as those years ago alike.

I'm in favor of bringing it back, but only under the assumption the reason it was removed in the first place was relative. I can only presume that as I cannot imagine Omni removing it for some trivial reason. It was likely removed with good reason, and I'm unfamiliar with what exactly went on to get it removed. That being said, me siding with one or another, I've no grounds to make a recommendation.

We don't want people removing mass content from site. If you created a thread that violates policy, message Staff and they can remove it.
