Bitcoin 5 Year Hold Return

I have done this in the past but didn't make a new thread for it. I wanted something with discussion as well as easily findable.

This is a chart of returns using any 5 year period since 2010 till today. I used Dec 1 of each year as the start and end date.

If you want to know why all these trading games are dumb, this is why.

2010 - 2015 1661x
2011 - 2016 234x
2012 - 2017 791x
2013 - 2018 3.3x
2014 - 2019 18x
2015 - 2020 51x
2016 - 2021 76x
2017 - 2022 48x

So at minimum there is a 3.3x return but for the most part it's much higher. And that's if you sold after 5 years. Just imagine if you hold, hold, hold.

I'd say a 1000% return annually for holding for 5 years is not only possible with Bitcoin investing but it's actually normal since 2015.

Need more perspective and convincing? Let's put it into dollars.

The last 5 years if you had invested $10,000 you'd have about a 48x return. That means you'd have $480,000.

Buy Bitcoin, hold, and STFU.
Thanks for the chart. I always wonder what will be the "x" returns. Anyway, we still have chance to invest in BTC and to make 50x I guess in the next 2 years max. I hope soon to sell my car to put the money in BTC.

Wow, the greed is unreal. 5000% in 2 years as if 5 years wasn't soon enough for you. Are you under 25 or something? WTF....

Basically every 5 year period up till BTC is $10m USD is going to make these type of returns.

A 50x from today is a $2m Bitcoin in 5 years. It's not going to hit that price in 2 years.

Holy shit I just can't believe the greed of your remarks.

btw, traditional markets would consider a 10% annual return as excellent. I'd be happy to earn 3x every 5 years for my investments.

They got sucked into thinking the market is some magical entity that will explode within one day like we've seen before. I hope his post was satire, because lmao. It's been like this since 2010.

LMAO, ignore my typo and remove the 0 xD. 5000% in 2 years it's not possible for sure.

BTC to $10m? Even if we round up the circulating supply to just 19m instead of 21m that's a $190 trillion market cap. Even 2m is 42 trillion with 21m BTC.

Quote:"Our total estimate for the global value of mediums of exchange and stores of value thus comes to $52.1 trillion."

BTC will capture 80% of "all" monetary value in the next 5 years? I think 100k is likely and even 500k is possible but 2m/10m seem insane to me.

I love this, and in my opinion coming from someone who isn't that knowledgeable in investing I feel more safe at times holding crypto than I do fiat currency.

Yup. That is correct. I've posted that before too because that's the amount Bitcoin has to have in value to function as intended as the global reserve currency.

If as you say the total world value is $52T for exchange mediums then Bitcoin has already hit at its ATH nearly 3%. Bitcoin value should multiple 50x in about 5 years. That's well past 100% but of course there is inflation itself and the assets of the world continues to grow. Bitcoin will hit $1m within 5 years. I can guarantee it, just like I told my friends and family when it was $100 that one day it will be worth $10k and $100k and I knew then that $1m would be a thing. It's coming whether you doubt it or not.

Bitcoin MUST go past $1m USD in value. There is no other destiny it has. You think it's going to drop to zero? You think it's just going to chill at $38k? So easy to just look at any chart and historical markers to know for a certainty that Bitcoin is going to $10m within 20 years. When you accept this as fact you can then look at how it's going to change things, what a $1m+ BTC is going to mean for society. Money will absolutely change into a new decentralized digital thing from the currently centralized government issued fiat. It will in-fact alter everything economically in the world into a new balance never seen in history before.

This is the digital revolution we are in. Similar to the industrial revolution that took place 200 years ago and changed everything.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution

Quote:The Industrial Revolution marks a major turning point in history; almost every aspect of daily life was influenced in some way.

First it was computers, then the internet, now it's digital money. All are basically the same thing. A digital revolution altering society forever. And it's happening right now in my generation. Some generations experienced two World Wars like my grandfather. But me, my age group (50's) were here with the home computer, the rise of the internet, and now cryptocurrency. It's a wonderful and amazing thing that possibly the younger generation doesn't understand. Did you know that even credit cards weren't a common thing until the 70's? And if you're thinking that's a long time ago, it's not.

Bitcoin $1m USD, yeah, it's going to happen. There is no argument you can make that it won't. No argument that wasn't made against Bitcoin to reach $1000 or $10,000. If those arguments failed for those price levels, they fail at all price levels.

Buy Bitcoin, hold, and STFU.

Irrelevant what Canada does and has no long-term implications other than show people Canada is powerless against crypto. They harder they try the weaker they will look.
Agreed. For those that don't know, I've sold ALL of my crypto. Twice.

I'm still holding BTC.

Sometimes you can just sense a dip, and I've been lucky to time them twice. I've bought a car, and a house cash with it.

Now, I'm back in acquire and hold mode. Got everything I need. Now just acquire and hold.
