What nodes do you own?

I have money to invest for this purpose and looking for node suggestions.

Obviously I won't blindly invest just looking for what other people are investing in to research. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Any thoughts on Horizen (ZEN)?
Azu and will invest on Flux sono.
What do mean by Nodes?

Quote:A network node is a connection point in a communications network

Do you want to run Bitcoin nodes? Ethereum nodes? PoS validator nodes of some kind? dPoS validator nodes?
Just because some projects call their staking mechanism 'running a node' or masternodes does not mean that that's the right name for staking in general.

So, to ask again.. what do you actually want to do? I presume you mean some kind of staking?

Here's an overview I found: https://masternodes.online/
Not sure how good it is though.

One thing I'd like to add (one of the few things i agree with the late Focus on): DO NOT BUY SHITCOINS SIMPLY FOR STAKING.
Your staking rewards = inflation of the coins supply.

Basic economic knowledge should be enough to understand why it doesn't make any sense to stake coins where the 'usefulness' of the coin is it's staking mechanism.
If the coins inflation cancels out your rewards, you're back to holding the original coin. So make sure you're only buying coins you'd buy anyways, with our without staking.

FLUX and PRE nodes for now.

It's weird how willing people are to look past very basic fundamentals, such as inflation, when it comes to staking.

It's something to struggle with analyzing investing. It mimics a Ponzi scheme imho but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't do well. I think you have to look at utility and what incentives are being offered to hold long term.

Long term it's hard to say how many of these projects are going to make it but my guess is that it will be 1% or less.

When ETH goes to PoS will that open up a whole new market as people learn what it is and how it works? I can imagine so. Only real crypto people know about staking and how it works. Most people (noobs) who I speak with about crypto heard of Bitcoin and Ethereum and some even say they have some (like $100) in a Coinbase account. But when you mention staking they get doe-eyed.

So there could be a day when staking hits mainstream and explodes just like NFT's. Don't forget that Crypto Kitties were NFT's long before the current hype. Just because staking is a thing now doesn't mean it's reached its full potential for hype.

I can see a day when staking is figured out, I mean by that is the marketing and economics of it. Like simpler interest at 2-5% instead of some of these bigger numbers (causing inflation). Or maybe better long-term hold incentives; like Waves does for their IDO pools and WX token.

Waves staking though is really experimental when it comes to some of their pools. But it could be a good model for some success. It's imho innovative what they are attempting to do. I am just not convinced it will work.

I agree, as long as the coin has more utility than simply being staked.
The reason for investing into something should never be staking.

Because with such coins where it's incredibly easy to stake (dPoS systems) and therefore most coins are being staked, returns = inflation.
In Ethereum on the other hand, staking requires at least some effort (running a validator), therefore less people stake and returns > inflation.

I think a lot of people who get into crypto start with buying random coins which promise big returns (e.g. through staking) because they think BTC is already too expensive. We see those people all the time here in the sub forum.

I have ETH nodes hosted on allnodes and I have some SOL staked through Allnodes as well. All of it is noncustodial staking.

Less risky (but still risky) node projects I'm involved in are COMB, PRE, and FLUX.
More risky project I'm involved in are The Tavern and VaporFI.

Other risky options are Dairy Money, Zues, Thor, CUBO, and Strong.
