Captain Morgan has Disputed a Contract with VPN ( 849662 )

This project was started back in January.
The first deadline was around the 7th of February but because of my own busy life, we pushed it to mid-March.

After several crossed deadlines, excuses, and lack of development.. VPN finally stopped responding on the 1st of May.

I have seen him online a couple of times on Discord, I have written to him on the 1st, 5th 7th, and the 10th of May.
No responses at all.

I have paid 750$ out of the 1000$ we agreed upon.

I now have a new developer overlooking the project, who is horrified after looking at the code.
As it pretty much needs to be rewritten, as nothing works and the code is so bloated and full of errors, its almost easier to start from scratch again.

Payments to VPN were made whenever he asked for it.
Only once was I late for a bit over 2 days, mainly because of an exchange not allowing me to pull the funds.

This is a worthless bunch of code, that I paid 750$ for, which is extremely unsatisfying.

I hope some form of agreement can be made, to solve this.

Deal with caution!

I’m really sorry for this.

The fact that the code is bad, is hard to claim. Since a bad developer, still did the development job he was hired to do.

Anyone, it sounds to me like this was never finished by VPN correct? If that is the case, then that is a claim worthy.

Hope you guys sort it out.

Addition: I did oversee that fact that nothing was working, that is not usually something that goes without a claim.

Again hope you guys solves it out. And best of luck on this project.

Thanks.

Yeah, I have access to the code.
But the code itself doesn't function like it should, which is why it needs to be rebuilt/fixed up.

But the code isn't ready, which is also why full payment hasn't been made yet.
The agreement is that final payment is made once the code is finished and ready for launch.

But I doubt I will hear from VPN.

I can see that VPN hasn't been online since 1st May. So let's hope that he returns and that this can be resolved between the two of you.

VPN has been online on the 19th of May, and I haven't heard from him.
I am ready for a solution and want to negotiate.
Please get back to me.
Still nothing.
Well, I guess I got scammed :/
Having looked over the code myself, "VPN" has almost 0 knowledge outside of google searching.
you don't need to take 5 months to develop a website like this.

This "project" he was working on was clearly more than he anticipated for someone with his extremely limited skillset.

He clearly downloaded a script and spent time on google copy pasting code.

Whilst i'm sure he did "work" on the project. The core code is not his. If he wishes to dispute this fact ill have a voice comms chat with him
about the finer points of php and code execution.

People like "VPN" need to just be honest and say: I am not a developer. I find scripts online, i download them and i deploy them for you.
There's nothing wrong with it... until you scam someone for $750.
So, I see 2 accounts have made new contracts with @VPN but both are fresh, and officially VPN has not been online on the forum for months.

Just caught him on Discord, but he seems to simply ignore my messages.

He lives... He responded to my messages.

I viewed some of the coding requests, $1000, not even Id accept, this request goes above €5000 with a 4/5 month deadline, plus expenses. Id ask €9000, this being not greedy.
This is my POV from working for companies that pay decent chunks also being a full stack dev, just my 5 cents.

Anyways, good luck resolving

Most of the work is simply modifying an open source backend panel, hooking it up to a REST API, importing a charting library, and then some other somewhat simple features.

So I disagree a fair bit with your estimate but building it fully from scratch.. Then I fully agree with you.
