UPDATE: I was given another court date, set for December 7th. No details were discussed on the court date related to this thread. There were well over 50 individuals who appeared for the arraignment, their only concern was getting us in and out.
I haven't opened up about this to anyone in the community, which any of you would say is a good thing because really it's no one else's business but I wanted to post here as a formal possible "see you later"..
And also to possibly get a little legal advice as far as something that's going on with one of the two charges I'm facing..
So long story short, I'm facing 2 felonies. They're both third-degree.
I hadn't bothered to check the status of my case while waiting for the court date because I knew for a fact that they have an airtight hold on me, there's no way for me to talk my way out of it, persay.
However, on the 19th of this month, there was a change to the "disposition" on one of the charges which has the comment No file/No Prosecution, and my question is does anyone know what this means?
Does this mean that they're not going to do anything with that specific charge?
On the 21st there was also a "Bond Cancellation sent to Surety" which I have no idea what that one means either..
Thoughts?..
I'm honestly fairly nervous, though this isn't my first rodeo being in trouble with the law. It's just that I have a newborn baby to take care of and support and just a pile of other things on top of it all.

Tell your friend I said thank you.
Guess will really only see in the morning.

I was appointed a Public Pretender, but anyone who knows, know they aren't really worth much.

I wouldn't doubt that, I hired a lawyer for my case and he literally didn't do shit but tell me to plead guilty so I would imagine a public defender is even worse.

Luckily I'm eligible for expungement.
Good luck
Yeah their only concern is the money for sure, not your best interest.
Thanks for the wish of luck. I'm going to need it.
So in my county, this happens when the State Attorney doesn't file to press charges. Sometimes they are way too booked and you get lucky. I've seen where they dropped charges against someone who had meth in their pocket because they didn't have fingerprints on the bag a couple times. If there's any shred of doubt and they have too much going on, they won't pursue.
A couple friends of mine have had this happen a handful of times. Didn't even get notified that the charges were dropped. I checked the clerk of courts site for them and saw dropped. Just happened this past week with a friend who his wife claim he pushed her.

Was that the same charge that you're no longer being charged on which has Bond Cancellation sent to Surety? From what I can make out from Google I think it means the person who paid your bond might get their money back? But I really don't know I'm just trying to work it out from Google and I don't live in the USA.
From what I know from watching a lot of true crime, which is mostly about the USA....they feel they've got you on the more serious felony, so they're not going to bother with the lesser of the two felonies is my guess re why they dropped one. I suppose this can be good for you, one less charge to worry about. Unless you're really lucky and they just decided that the more serious one wasn't going to fly. Why aren't you talking to your lawyer about this? If you can't afford one and you are in the States you should be able to get a public defender sometimes called legal aid in other counties. Why are you not asking your lawyer these questions? Or is it that you're paying a lawyer and you're scared of wracking up additional costs asking?

Basically a death warrant.
You should go stock up on guns and lock your doors.
I think he only got off one not the other one?

Bond Cancellation sent to Surety means you won't be bond. You will go straight to jail and await your trial. It's just means the bond was cancelled
the reason I don't know you would have to look into it to figure out why it was canceled.
The other statement about the one of the changes changing means the charge is pending. It means they intend to press those 2 charges but the one of the charges still needs to be filed. So, it looks like they're still in the process of gathering evidence and then filing for the charges.
So, that 2nd charge where you see that comment is pending. This can mean either there's a delay on their part or they might not have enough evidence to charge it so they might drop it. That's all what it means.
What are the charges that you're facing? Don't tell me shoplifting. You said it yourself they have something on you that is airtight.
Yeah I guess shoplifting is airtight these days with all the fucking cameras. Don't most HF members go down for hacking or drugs though?

Well, it was a short lived appearance.
They gave me another court date for December 7th and sent me on my way.
Didn't discuss details of anything or anything at all.
