You can now buy yourself L33t for 2500 Bytes for 30 days 60 days..

That should create a path for many members to earn bytes and do an upgrade. Please note that at this time you can't gift the upgrade but you can send someone the Bytes so they can buy it themselves.
I am hoping this opens up the first path for L33t by earning it through our internal rewards system (Bytes).

Please also report any bugs to me. I think I did enough testing but of course will all new code there could be some bugs or unexpected behavior.

This is a great addition to the site, especially given the recent changes regarding posting for non upgraded members. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of difference this makes with the amount of newly upgraded members there are as well as the amount of activity non upgraded and newly upgraded members are providing to the site. As always though, quality over quantity of course.

This is a new feature, it's not intended to be temporary. What may change is the price and length of the subscription. I may even do something really short like 7 days for 500 bytes.

Ahh okay gotcha gotcha, I like the idea of that.
Deals like the 7 days for 500 Bytes should absolutely incentivize new members to be active and upgrade, not to mention it'll give them a glimpse of what's to come by upgrading. In my time on HF I can't really think of a situation where someone upgraded, and then were unhappy with the perks. I've generally only ever seen positive feedback regarding upgrades.

The entire Social tab is open to them. Also so are HF Byte Games. And I'm going to create ways for them to earn bytes beyond just posting or the HF Games. There will be tasks and milestones for them.
This deal is awesome. I think 2500 Bytes for a month of upgrade is a good deal.
However if you are thinking of doing a week upgrade for 500 then it will also have a downside. While it will definitely encourage activity among legit new members, some scammers might take this opportunity to come and buy those 500 bytes for a dollar or so and try to scam.

It's getting very hard to scam on HF.
