I played competitively from 2011-2014 peaking at division 3 but quit playing until 2022 and now I operate a small paintball apparel company and play semi nationally again. Whenever I bring this up with other members they all say "oh yeah I used to play it's been so long" but no one every says yeah man I played a few weeks ago. When was the last time you Played?

I last played probably around the same time for my cousin's birthday party, I've never played professionally though.

Tbh, I've never played it lmao. Planning to try it out really soon with a couple of friends and some of them are pretty experienced so it's definitely gonna be fun :-)

I don't even really recommend it right now anyways, even the like lowest of low level divisions are just former higher ranked people who's ELO fell off after taking a break. I coach division 6 teams and while all the teams still have fun it's apparent most of the other teams aren't new.

Tbh my life is too busy and hectic with work and other commitments to fit in another hobby, I've got my own machine/fabrication shop that's costing me a couple of hundred a month for rent which I don't even have time to use 🤣

Yeah I play 4-6 events a year and they cost minimum $1200 per event without counting travel and stay and I have sponsors, it's honestly a stupid hobby that I shouldn't have gotten back into but while I'm young enough to play I'm taking advantage

All cases of paintballs have 4 bags of 500, so a full case is 2000.

A typical weekend if I play Saturday and Sunday I'll shoot 4 cases but sponsors. Cover practice paint a lot of times so I end up only paying for 1/4.

Depending on contracts most sponsors require you to play 2 Sundays a month.

It depends on how we do in the tournament and where I'm playing. Shooting 7 pods (around 1200 balls) a game is pretty easy depending. Games last around 2 minutes and there's typically 25 teams per division. Scoring is done different per division but even if you lose every game you will have played around 16 times, if you play through the whole tournament and win you could play around 60 games.

Typically 6 refs are on the field at one time watching each player basically and it's a 5v5 so you can assume any ball that hits a player and breaks it goes noticed. So most of not all are missing.

It's typically about holding angles, you never stop shooting. If there's a position of power on the field you will be shooting that entire line to get to it the entire game so no one can advance to it.
