Not sure if someone reported this already, but todays stats are bugged now showing Vyrez marketplace thread as "Todays most replied thread".

Oh, I see what you mean. It thinks that's a new thread because of the way the bumping is working.

Hm...I may have to remove that stat or adjust the code. I'll look into my options. I may just have to disallow marketplace forums.
Love this idea. All these incentives you've been adding for Bytes use has been amazing to see ngl.

It's a bit odd getting used to the new layout, but all for the better. Finally no more "but that wasn't LQB, I was just telling my customers I'm online!" 🤣

Also the bump price change for V3ndors is awesome to see. 40 Bytes should definitely be doable for most people I'd imagine. Pretty cool too that Stanley won't be posting at the bottom anymore and it's just the threads actual replies.

All in all great changes and update bossman.

Not sure I'm going to change it though. I think members that click the New Posts want to actually see new posts. btw, you can still post in your threads if you want to get into the New Posts results. I am easing up on LQP warnings since the bumps are changed and sort order. I even lowered the min character limit to just 20. That's not to suggest you should post lqp constantly but if you want to see your thread in New Posts results, then make a new post.

This might attract those PBDs to come back. But getting noticed in new posts was still a good incentive.

One more thing these bumps are doing is the appear on bumpers profile as they have posted that thread recently.
example (Click to View)

Not really deal breaking but still.

I initially thought this was a good change as it will appear better in the section that actual people are posting on threads but rather now it kind of looks its deserted due to all old posts are getting highlighted as last posts.

Also I know many people are rejoicing over smaller fees now but I feel it is really low now. And I haven't really felt any change in number of times I have had to use bumps for my threads irrespective of this change.

So I was trying to figure out why bump prices were so cheap when I stumbled upon this thread.

I don't agree with @Young Zel@ or Nas and here is why:

Bump cost reduction was 50% of why I bought vendor.
Bumping by yourself should not be free, at least in the marketplace. It's advertising, and if you are making money you have to account for some going out.

While I do agree that without the thread being able to be bumped by new posts it makes launching a product a more costly venture in the short run, it will make it easier for your product to compete in the future.

I sell on amazon, and they require people to pay up to 50% of the sold price of whatever they sell. If you literally just increase the price, all of that added cost is passed on to the consumer.

As soon as the byte price was lowered I doubled my bump frequency. If it was free to bump there would be nothing stopping me or any other member from auto bumping every minute. If you even wanted to show up in the first page for more than a minute or three you would have to buy a sticky.

The bump prices being higher is what gives new sellers a shot because it makes advertising for a week cost $2-$5 instead of $60 if we know that a post will not be equal to a bump.

Completely agree with this. Within some time bump cost went from 200 to 80 just because people can't self bump with LQP? That is the cost to pay if you want the exposure and that is why some people prefer Vendor.

With that price decrease, bytes circulation (buy/sell) will be affected as well.

FYI I forgot to change how it worked from the API. It's fixed now, or at least it should be. :P
Updated bump pricing...

Vendors = 50 Bytes
Ub3r 100 Bytes
Everyone Else = 150 Bytes

That should be the end of adjusting for that.
Does anyone know if the automatic bump site using API is still working after this change? I don't have time to bump manually every 12 hours.
Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

It should. Try it.

Omniscient would you ever consider an on-site scheduled bump feature or would it be a too lengthly to code in?

Lions League Bumper should still work fine: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6207404
If there's any issue, report it on the thread and we will try to adjust it.

The whole point of the API is so that I don't have to code everything into HF. So that members can do shit too that interacts with HF. The bump feature is a good example. Wish there was more.
I think a cool idea would be if someone does a Stanley bump it, the title should show as bold as if it was unread.
Maybe also offer the option for people to opt in to autobump for a more premium price ( byte sink ).

That's not a good idea to mark a thread unread. First off if you read the thread, then why would they need to read it again without any new posts? Secondly the function of read/unread is attached to accounts (UIDs) and not the posts table. It functions completely differently.

And there are already multiple autobump services that use the API, some are free to use even.
