Following the ban of xadamxk and many other friends over the last few years I have decided to leave HF.
I loved spending my time here and interacting with you guys.

Unfortunately the person running it is a tool.

Before you leave, could you go into briefly why you feel like you get no value out of the forums now and what made you sign up initially.

I find my activity goes down at different times throughout the years but I still find a reason to be here. Jobs/Income, Learning, Meeting people, Sharing ideas and getting feedback on those by likeminded people.

It's not about the forums, it's about the choices being made by the Admin. A website being run buy an adult who bans people just because he doesn't like what members are saying is not a place for me unfortunately, and I don't support these choices and behavior in any way.

I came here looking for an online community and to learn programming, both which I have found. But having my own adult life now and the programming knowledge on how to write my own code I feel like my pyramid of needs is fulfilled IRL. I would stay, but I would be a hypocrite and unfair to all the people that have contributed immensely to this forums and that got banned without notice because of some impulsive hot head.

People can spend all the cash they want on awards, which is most probably what the admin wants. But what will be left when all the HQ members will be banned or have left for there own good?

Removing Writers, Mentors and not wanting to recruit a developer just so he can put more money in his pocket with minimal effort are all great decisions.

I'm sure you could offer services for teaching coding as well as contribute back to the forum for the help you have received. I'm sure Omni feels as though people are talking shit about the forum for no reason, and I see it. It's whatever to be honest, when you have such a large range of view points from around the world - you will always have disagreements. I can't remember the last time on Discord more than 10 people could sit in a voice chat without someone yelling.

I'm not sure about any of that but if he added them, he is just as welcome to take them away. He's not out here trying to intentionally hurt the forum - that's just stupid to think that.

I don't support his vision, his decisions and neither do I support his views. It's only fair I leave if I feel the person running the website is failing to do so in a fair way. To me, if you're afraid your opinions can turn against you in the form of account deletion when you are not insulting the owner but just expressing your thoughts, then it is a sign you just find your way out as quickly as possible.

All I do know is it's always better to be positive than go on a negative spree, because it seems to be the case at this moment- that said, I can understand your sentiment, especially with the current context.

I like HF, and I believe there's still a chance, also people's emotions are not binary, and personally I've had alot of emotions on my life recently, especially with the current "situation", so I try to be as neutral as possible. Anyway I initially joined HF to learn graphic design stuff, and bits and pieces on how to make money, and there's still much to be seen.

I guess all I can say good luck on your future endeavors.

Thank you for sharing your view. Unfortunately so much of member's continuous efforts in contributing to the forums have gone to waste.
I do not wish to carry on creating content for a community I might be exiled from for expressing my views in the future.

No idea why they were banned, I have openly given my ideas and feedback on HF when asked on his threads. I'm not going to insult him or attack him for having an opinion about his own site. If he insults me, I'll take it on the chin and accept the fact that he feels that way. I'll then reevaluate what I am doing and if I don't think I am doing anything that needs changing - Then I will just move on with my day.
I don't need to quit the entire website or attack him back just for the sake of it.

That's a bold assumption to say that a lot of people feel that way - in turn, what that feels like is threads like these try to be a "ape strong together" and a protest/walk out.
Like someone just told me, Omni can handle his own business and doesn't need anyone sticking up for him so I'll clarify that I am sticking up for HF.

The amount of new users that might see threads like this and think 'ah guess I should leave or not get invested in making the community better' is much more than the amount of users who would agree with your point of view.

Absolutely, I have PM'ed him for an account closure. I have no need for attention.

I am explaining why I am leaving, which I am entitled to. People like Adam have posted a farewell message and it got deleted, again, because the owner cannot handle opinions held against him. It's much easier to delete the user and everything related to them, maintaining the illusion that dreamland never catches fire.
