Alien mothership lurking in our solar system could be watching us with tiny probes.

A draft paper by a Harvard scientist and the head of the Pentagon's UFO office has raised the idea an alien mothership could be in the solar system, sending out tiny probes dubbed "dandelion seeds" to explore the planets within.

Could an alien mothership be hovering around the solar system, sending out tiny probes to explore planets? According to a Harvard scientist and a Pentagon official, it's possible.

In a draft paper, the pair said it is feasible an extraterrestrial spaceship could be in our galactic neighborhood, exploring the region by the means of "dandelion seeds" — small spacecraft that can gather and send back information, similar to the way humans send out spacecraft to explore planets.

Avi Loeb(opens in new tab), an astronomer at Harvard University, and Sean M. Kirkpatrick, director of the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) — established in July 2022 by the Department of Defense (DoD) to detect and study "objects of interest" — released the draft, Physical Constraints on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena(opens in new tab), on March 7. It is not an official Pentagon document but was carried out in partnership with the DoD. It has not been peer-reviewed.

Would not be surprised based on the amount of radio waves we just blast out into open space.

What is it like 50 billion lights years of space that we can observe so far.
I'd say someone else has a Voyager just like we do.

When I read this article my immediate thought was those Tic-Tac UFOs that have been spotted over the recent years. They seem to be spotted all around the globe, but by appearance would only have enough room in the capsule for a single person and not very comfortably. However, if you remove the operator and assume a drone or unmanned probe, that thing is the perfect size for a drone probe to hold the equipment.
Interesting read. I think it's something to consider... like in Star Wars/Star Trek or some film like this, they wouldn't interfere with the natural growth/civilization or whatever reason it was. Maybe aliens are here. Maybe they're not. Maybe they're watching us. Maybe they're not. My guess is there are some watching me type this right now. Some. Just... a handful let's say.
All this alien talked propped up by the government for one world ruler... kidding.
Could be possible but do you think they would find any interest in us as a civilization?

I think its fun to think about for numerous reasons.
  • Seems very narrowminded given the sheer vast amount of space there actually is that WE of all things are the only intelligent living organism in all that is out there. - If thats the case, what the fuck happened?
  • Given it all, its very possible they are just aas interested in us as we are with them, I mean we literally are shooting stuff into the deep space in a hope that SOMETHING will find it and respond.
  • Hell for all we know we could be some 4th grade aliens Biology experiment. Like we cultivate germ cells, they could have just tossed a bunch of random DNA here to see what the fuck happened. And if thats the case, god help the Alien kid who did it. 🤣
So some guy at Harvard saw a turd shaped rock floating in space and said "what if bro.."

Real news worthy stuff happening here.

Given the expanded knowledge was have gained within the last century alone, I think it is very plausible we have sparked the interest of another Species out there. If for any reason wondering what the flying pigs fuck we are doing down here nuking one another and fighting each other. Its gotta look rather fucked up from above dont you think?

The idea isn't unreasonable. The part that's ridiculous is that a Harvard researcher smoked weed and hung out on 4chan until he decided to credit himself with a conspiracy theory that's been floating around since the 90's.

I am sure you meant to say the 1960's there, right? :P

I was being conservative (since the internet really accelerated it). But the bulk of the rumor did start in the 50's after the Roswell incident. The cold war era propaganda arms race did a number on us.

It was believed Roswell incident was a Scout craft.
It is only logical that their technology would have advanced greatly since then as well and now can send unmanned probes instead of a full craft and risk loosing their own in a crash again lol.

I want it to be true just as much as you, but a much more reasonable explanation is the government showing off their propaganda abilities to their cold war counterpart. There's no significant evidence to say aliens exist, but there's plenty of evidence of a cold war and a government that likes to manipulate it's citizens. I think we all want to believe aliens are contacting us because it appeals to our higher power complex.

Regardless, that's off topic. The ideas this guy is researching are important, but with no evidence and no unique ideas, this article is hollow.
