Hello, HF community.

As the new owner of Olympians, I'm currently holding recruitment for leadership positions.

In terms of what type of leaders I'm looking for and what type of group I'm willing to create, It'll be more of a jack-of-all-trades group.

I want multiple sectors, i.e

1. Coding / AI sector. I would like to bring a leader for this section. The leader must be active, good at coding/what they do (With proof to back it up), and must be creative.

WHAT DO I MEAN BY CREATIVE?

In order to keep the group/forum activity alive, the leader must be able to lead a group of coders/ai techs who are interested in learning as well as teaching others. The Coding sector will be filled with a group of individuals who want to excel at coding, learn and teach new tips and tricks, and are willing to come up with ideas on keeping the community engaged. I'm thinking more towards the line of creating monthly/quarterly tasks/competitions to be completed (Which would be created/discussed by the group/sector leaders) which would result ultimately in a reward for the user who completes it.

2. Finance/business

Everyone loves making money, regardless of what sector you're in. This sector will be targeting users who are interested in the finance aspect of life.

Stocks, Bonds, Crypto, Real Estate, marketing, anything and everything to do with leveling up in the finance/business world. I want to include real-life scenarios and examples of job opportunities people can get, help with certain courses or classes that can be taken to further one's career, etc.

3. Music, Art, Graphics, Lounging.

Even though everyone loves being serious and working hard 24/7, everyone needs some stress-free time.

This sector will be more towards the life balance one is working on achieving. I'd probably lead this sector since I need something to do as well, but it will be a sector that's free for all to relax, talk about their lives, what's going on with them, things they can improve and work on, etc.

Think more along the lines of therapy and being therapeutic towards one another.

4. Gaming, ESports, etc.
A sector that focuses towards gaming, gaming tips/tricks, advice, even talking about things like owning an esports team.


I'm not saying everyone has to get along, there won't be arguments & it'll be a success from day 1, but if everyone treats it as a community they would want to be a part of and actually work together to help everyone else succeed, the group activity & hf activity could definitely increase.

At the end of the day, people want things that benefit mainly them and themselves. If this group can end up showing that, we can get shit done.

Good luck taking your group in this direction. It will take lots of work and motivation to achieve. Unfortunately, the community isn't like it used to be. Subforums are usually dead asf with little to no participation. I was giving away over $1k of awards and prizes and even then only the same 10-12 people were doing each event.

I feel like money and awards only give so much.

For me, at least, the real value is knowledge. Having and being able to provide knowledge that others may not know or would want to learn could bring more motivation and activity as a whole.

I agree, but more so what I was meaning is that the community base that's willing to take the time to teach and learn is mostly gone. There aren't as many guides and community information being posted as there once was. Members don't put in the effort they used to.

I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor. My group is doing fairly well so far, but it takes a lot to keep it going. Most people just want the userbar/color, they could care less about the group. This is the dilemma for all groups in 2023.

I'll have to see in terms of rebranding. Don't have an idea for a name/user bar yet, so I'll keep it as is, for now.

Inactivity / not trying would lead to a user being kicked from the group. If they care about the user bar or color enough, they can definitely put in the work to keep it.

I get where you're coming from 100%, though. I'm sure there are users who are still dedicated and willing to learn/teach, and hopefully, after a slower start, we can get things rolling and create a name for ourselves.

I feel like it’s time to start involving newer members into groups and building off of that. When I was new, getting into a group really helped sparked my interest in the community and wanted to contribute more.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of excellent older members that still contribute, but if we want the newer members to stay and eventually become just like those excellent older members, we really have to push to get them involved. Which, as I type and think about it, having a group member essentially be a recruitment specialist, that goes around looking for newer members to get involved and have them apply. Then have someone monitor their activity. Could be a difference maker, or one could say essential for a group to continue to work.

I'll just throw my story out and see if its interesting enough.

I grew up poor. Like, when I graduated high school I was living in a shed that had a single light bulb. No running water, no insulation, no heat/air. Just a lightbulb in a shed. I was working every waking hour outside school to be able to eat and survive while also taking care of my siblings. I joined the Marine Corps the day I turned 18. Served until medical circumstances forced me out. Used experience to start a cyber security career. Worked up to $165k salary per year before I moved back home and started my empire. Currently still make low six figures but I just closed on a new primary residence today worth half a million. In addition to that I own outright two rentals, a city lot, one property under contract to sell, and another property lined up to buy once that closes.

I'm not an expert in anything, but I know enough and I know how to hustle.

If nothing else is gained from this post, I hope that reminds everyone that your life is what you make it. You are never destined to remain in shitty situations. YOU have the power to change your circumstance, but YOU have to put in the work.
