Commonly referred to as Link Juice. The more links you have to a page the more respected that page is suppose to be for the search engines. And the higher in rank (respect) the page that links to you, the more juice you get from it.
Google invented something they called PageRank which was the backbone of their Google Algorithm for search. It's still a thing apparently but tools to find your true Page Rank really don't exist anymore. Google used to tell you, I don't think they do anymore.

Backlinks from credible and authoritative websites are indeed beneficial for your website's credibility and trustworthiness. When reputable sites link to yours, it signals to search engines that your content is valuable and worth promoting. This can potentially improve your search engine rankings and increase organic traffic to your site. However, it's important to note that the quality of backlinks matters more than the quantity. Focus on obtaining backlinks from trustworthy sources relevant to your industry or niche for the best results. (May 9, 2023 08:52 AM)Omniscient Wrote: Commonly referred to as Link Juice. Yes, you're correct. The concept you mentioned, often referred to as "Link Juice," suggests that the more links a webpage has pointing to it, the more authoritative and respected it appears to search engines. The idea is that high-quality links from reputable and influential websites can boost a webpage's ranking. Google initially introduced PageRank as a crucial component of its search algorithm, but it's no longer publicly visible or accessible through tools.
