Proudest Moment This Year

Hey HF,

Since we just parked the half year mark already.

What's your proudest moment so far this year? Your biggest accomplishment.

I'll start it off:

Finally able to rent a house (Retarded housing market here). Also got a new job.
.
Been having success in flipping random stuff so the extra money is great

I'm just proud for being consistent in all that I do.

Good job on the new job! :)

Long story short, I finally considered this to be the year that my wife and I have officially bounced back from losing almost everything in a fire about two years ago. We closed on our first home this past spring.

Congrats on the new place and the new job!

Congratulations on your new housing and occupation.

I'm in a similar situation myself, about 8 months ago I got my first rented house (was in a house-share for the prior five years) and started a new job.

I've bust my ass for 10 years and I'm finally in a position where I can say I have a clear career path.

I'm very happy with myself. You should be too!
I wouldn't say I'm proud about it but my biggest accomplishment this year is that I became the father of a lovely baby boy.

Breaking up with my ex. That has certainly been the best thing in this year so far.

Congrats again my brotha. How's your family?

In a week's time, my daughter will receive an award with High Honors for 3rd grade at her school, and as her father, I will be filled with immense pride.

The housing market sucks ass. It's too expensive to rent a home, buy a home, or even getting an apartment.
Then the cost of auto insurance and health insurance for me is going up each year. We have the highest
auto insurance in the country. Too many accidents in my state and auto theft is high too.

I think for me year 2023 is the year of change. I think the first half sucked ass but looks like 2nd half of it will be
better. Looking to get a job in my field of study. I own 3 companies going to soon start my 4the one.
I also have plans for a 5th one but that would be in the works fo a couple of years.

What type of job did you get? Is it your first time renting a home? Do you live in the U.S.A?

I'm a Teamleader in one of the leading package delivery services.

And yes the housing market sucks. All the prices here went up with 20%. Mortgages are impossible and renting prices are through the roof. I got lucky tho.

And just stay positive man. You're gonna kill it. Keep your head up high and everything will work itself out.

And i live in Europe. First time renting a home :)

Stay strong man! Recovery is a bitch. But with some persistence and motivation you're gonna beat it :).

I play in an online game where a fellowship is made up of 25 people. We know bits about each other so it is not fully secretive but we aren't closest buddies either. One of our fellow's username is an acronym of 9 letters. She has been part of the fellowship for 7 years and no one ever could come to close to decipher the meaning of those letters.

Because I like a challenge I started collecting data from our conversations. We became friends and I was able to build up a file about her personal life like I was an agent. Can we call this social engineering?

So I had all this data I collected but nothing made sense or a good fit.

Then one night I was about to get into bed and my brain definitely wasn't thinking about it, but it hit me. I figured it out. She confirmed I was right and she was kinda over the moon. I was over the moon as well. And actually all that secret information building was useless because the name has no link to her personal life whatsoever.
