Hi all, this program will take your URL and give you 4 free "short" URLs that redirect to it. This will let you easily have unique links to use on social media, emails, etc, so you are not falsely detected for spam/etc using the same link each time for a reputable cause! :)

I was looking for inspiration so I googled for free APIs, and found this Github that has a list of free link shorteners ( https://github.com/public-apis/public-ap...shorteners ). I implemented 4 of the APIs that don't require oauth or API keys. this is a quick Electron starter app that I built off of for a URL shortener.
Just enter any URL, press the button, and voila - you will have 4 new URLs that you can use. You can also go on to run the same URLs more than once. This may be helpful if you are in marketing and need unique URLs for different purposes.
I hope this is helpful for someone. I am including the source so anyone can build off of it. It uses Electron Builder to package as .exe installer, but you can run with just normal Electron (unpackaged) too. Also, if you are on a Mac it'll build (npm run dist) as an iOS app instead of for Windows, and same if you run dist on a Linux OS. It always builds the distributable to work on whatever platform you're on.
Windows (.exe) installer:

Electron app / source code:

Once you have it unpacked, you'll need to make sure you have access to things like Node, npm, etc - core deps basically.
Once you are all setup just get started with normal install:
How to run dev mode:
How to build a dist (for OS you are on):
Please note that the installer exe includes necessary packages so it is a larger file (~70mb) and the source has package.json/etc (which is just the package names, not the source) so the sourcecode overall is much smaller (~8KB). This is because it's Electron, so it uses Chromium behind the scenes.
