I wrote this thread on another forum and thought some people might appreciate it.
Pros
The plot wasn't too boring.
First time I saw it (while being aired) It was quite interesting actually.
The animation wasn't too bad for it's time, I honestly enjoyed the weekly routine of watching it.
The anime probably got every genre you could probably think of spread over the episodes(except Ecchi as far as I know  )
Sometimes you can clearly feel the show is depressing/ominous and sometimes it's too bright it can hurt your inner depression/anxiety.
I honestly hate to compare an anime to another but considering for example One Piece (I've also watched it and still watching it from time to time)
It's way shorter, the fight parts are done way better imo. There's fanservice in both but I think Naruto is more moderate about it.
Some fillers are simply too great to be missed, I've enjoyed several fillers imo even though it was regarding secondary characters.
I also believe the comedy is done better in Naruto, in a more moderate way to be accurate.
Cons
O.K. fuck where do I start?
Some fillers are complete waste of your god damn time.
Ye some characters are worth knowing their past, but some others I literally couldn't give a fuck about some secondary character that showed up for a handful of episodes then disappeared into oblivion.
At some part(s)/point(s), you will be convinced that the main characters are a god damn joke, Why they are the main characters will be a complete mystery.
Fight scenes, ye they are in the pros that they were ahead of their time and nice and all but to be honest, the animation is terrible in some scenes. (you won't notice it at all in movies, but it's clear as the day in the anime)
Did I mention flash-backs? I mean literally the same part of the story being told over and over and slightly adding more details each time. Like we ain't got time to start another part of the anime so let's repeat an old one cuz we feel like it.
OK, I'm interested. Where do I start
1- Naruto skip the fillers if you get bored and the countless episodes of training are waste of your time as well.
2- Naruto Shippuuden again, any filler you don't feel interested in don't watch it, some fillers are worth watching though, just saying.
3- The Last: Naruto the movie This movie is a filler between the last 2 chapters, it fills the gap and I honestly love it and love how it ended the show for me.
(P.S: Other movies can be watched any time since they have no affect over the story iirc)
After watching the above 3, I believe getting into Boruto is over doing it. I enjoyed Naruto and I believe milking the franchise for more money is low asf.
The ending was too perfect for me to watch anything else and threaten losing that perfect ending.
