Top 5 AI Extensions for Visual Studio Code??

Hello everyone,

I'm here to talk about my favorite extensions for Visual Studio Code that make it an even better Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Artificial Intelligence development. As someone who has been using VS Code for years now and constantly looking for ways to improve my coding experience, I can tell you GPT PILOT plugin help's quality of code I write.

1. GPT PILOT (for me the best plugin)

Know any other's?List them and answer why it is good or better then the one i use daily!

CoPilot is the by far, the best I have used yet

Another decent (but not great one) that I have tried recently was Tabnine, the premium version is okay (tis a fine assistant but tis no Copilot, English), but the free version really struggles to suggest anything at all and really needs to be forced with simple idiomatic comments.

I'll go back to CoPilot soon, purely because it just works so well..

How does GPT Pilot fair against CoPilot? Do you think its better?

So far from what I've seen briefly of GPT Pilot, it appears to be similar to ChatDev in a way and is terminal oriented (though I didn'treally look much into it before writing this as I'm fairly swamped in my workload right now), CoPilot is more IDE oriented, suggesting relevant data specific to your stylometry as you write it (if you choose for it to), since there are 2 modes, public and private, choosing private will be more adaptive and less intuitive (at first), but is preferable in a corporate setting.

I'd really like to see ChatDev integrated as something that can read files though, Cough cough Push request anyone?Cough cough

One key advantage to CoPilot, is the ability to regenerate your response on the fly, using key commands to back and forth between suggestions, both multiline and inline.

I'll be rebuying it tomorrow after writing all this because I forgot how helpful it really was for my efficiency.

Nice!!!I will try that out to see how it works!!The best thing that GPT pilot has is that is is free and it is using gpt4 to generate stuff!

Interesting, I just purchased GPT Plus for the first time, tested it by providing it an image of a game of Freecell and requested it solve it, after analysing, it couldn't.

This is one reason why I believe copilot to be much better, because it's not so general purpose, whereas chatgpt is, so copilot is essentially made for coders.
I think you might find it useful (just make sure you find fhe configuration to enable multi line suggestions).

But yea, the level of reasoning with GPT is not quite there yet, which is why I'm not utilising chatdev much right now.

Codeium, and it's like GitHubs copilot but free and using gpt3 I believe. though it does seem to suck sometimes so I only use it on rare occasions and just use the autocomplete it has and not the chat or the other features much.

github copilot is using gpt–4 model and it works the same on both neovim and vsc
