Quest 2 vs 3

Is there really that big of a difference. I just got the 2 because it was only 300
I have the 2. My wife has the 3. I haven't messed with hers yet she just got it for Christmas. I do know that the 3 is fast and more powerful. It also has a color camera for when you walk around outside the zone. It recognizes your hands without the controllers for some applications. Has solid augmented reality.

Interesting thanks
Might as well go for the latest upgrade, you know?
I would still prefer pc specific VR Headsets if you plan on playing wired and connected to the pc over the Quest.

I still use the Quest 2 wired to PC.

Wired to PC so I can use my headset, mic, better performance, to record, use PC only tools, etc.
And so it doesn't die in 2 hours.

Would you mind showing me your setup or something like it? I have the Quest 2 and Quest 3. I didn't know I could wire them to the PC. Where do you plug it in at? Just a really long USB C cable? Do you still stand up and move around with it or how are you doing it? I'm very intrigued right now.

I just recently got the Quest 3 and been playing around with it. The 2 hours battery time is really annoying, I'm assuming it's always on "charge mode" when connected via PC?

Also yeah, it's USB C cable. You could get one from Amazon cheaper than Meta imho and about 5 meters should be enough.

Edit: OP, Quest 3 is much better than 2. Significant difference. That is if you enjoy the MR experience, better quality/performance, auto boundary zones so you don't get knocked out while immersed etc etc.

I could show you the setup on discord if you'd like. It goes into a USB-C port. It goes into the back of my pc to the motherboard. I could stand up, but I usually sit down when I use it.

Yeah. If you play wired, you can have it charge the whole time or you can just play while it charges in the wall. I recommend kiwi gear to make the quest feel better. I use the Quest 2, so I got the kiwi headstrap (literally a life changing piece of gear for the Quest). And there's a bigger battery they have on their website.

I own the Quest 2, and the Quest 3. I like the lightness of the Quest 3, it feels lighter on my head, and has more features. Like the full-color passthrough cameras. My only problem with the Quest 3, due to it drawing so much power, it can't charge while you play PCVR. On my Quest 2, I can charge while playing PCVR, and never run out of battery, allowing me to play for however long I want. On the Quest 3, I only get 2-3 hours of battery life.

Hopefully the next Quest headset has more battery life, because that seems to be the only drawback for me with the Quest 3.
