A question about MAC address spoofing

Hello,
When a hacker spoofs a MAC address and connects to a network, does the original device disconnect from the network or are both still connected?

Thank you.

Thank you.

It's more complicated. It would cause a conflict.

Hello,
Thank you so much for your reply.
If the previous device is active in the network, then what is the use of spoofing the MAC address?

I can only give you the theory. There ought to be a lot of packets going to the wrong device is all.

A MAC spoofing attack is when a hacker mimics your MAC address to redirect data sent to your device to another device. It allows the attacker to gain unauthorized access to a network to launch a man-in-the-middle attack. MAC spoofing lets an attacker bypass security measures that you have set up, such as MAC filtering.
